July. High summer 2013-a humid and warm start. Is big heat lurking? Banter ok here.

The dominance of English genetics in your family really make the India portion a lot *less* unusual, considering how far back it was and the history between the two people's.

Yup, that's what we've surmised as well (just didn't want to get into the "whys" of the thing).   It's more at you're going along thinking one thing, and the truth couldn't be more different.   That's really the weird part.

As far as actually being white, black, purple, red or yellow - meh.  I don't have any room or patience for racism or even an interest in thinking about that kind of crap.  Not that you ask... just sayin'

But it is interesting history between Britain and India with the tea trades and so forth.  That's how we figured.   It's probable that there are Indian gene more common throughout Britain today than most are even aware.   fascinating.

My sister is obsessed with genealogy. 1/2 Italian with Irish, English, German Dutch and Native mixed in.

And you know ...if we go back far enough it's all pointless, because no one on the planet is more than a 52nd cousin in degrees of separation, and that goes for Eskimos to Aboriginals of the Outback in Australia, and everyone in between.

Just basic dim-wit awareness of that genetic fact, makes racism utterly meaningless.

And because this country was settled 40 miles away in Plymouth, us Bostonians all speak the King's English. Everyone else has the unfortunate luck of getting caught up with international dialects.

LOL We overthrew your King, We trashed his wicked cah trew it in tha damn pahk ( I thought you were from an immigrant family?)

It really is something that quite often can be full of surprises, and I think it's always fun to learn more about where one comes from. My genetics are pretty well spread out between Irish, French/Canadian, some native in the area (mikmaq), Italian and Greek. If its dominantly anything, definitely Irish though.

Grandmother was German, Grandfather was Polish on my mon's side. My Dad's side was Italian and Portuguese, but 3rd and 4th generation removed. Dad grew up in the north end and my mom in Hyde Park. That leads me to butcher every word with the letter "R" in the dictionary.

That's a great lightning shot in the Republican slideshow.
