dendrite
The govt loves to code things weird. You would think Williamntic would be WMT Newport NPT or something similarSome of the logical codes get taken so they get creative. Others go way back to the name of the airport or I believe the original owner. Obviously IAD, JFG, LGA, ORD, etc are all tied into the airport names. Some are head scratchers though. I think they pick letters and numbers out of a hat now for sites like 8B0, 1V4 and, 1P1.

Ginx snewx
Cool so you're part Native American? I'm like 1/8th or 1/16th lol. My Great grandmother on my Moms side was Quapaw OK. I was never raised in native ways and do not consider myself as such. I am a firm believer that the culture you were raised in defines who you are. I am an American with blood roots from many different cultures.

CoastalWx
High TDs near the south coast aren't just a function of water temps. It's low level moisture pooling from the lack of mixing. We see this every summer and August is really when the suana sets up.
Typhoon Tip
The results of my mother's geneology/family tree research had us at a take. We found out that my great great grand-mother was Indian -- not American, but from the province where Calcutta is today. I thought I was 100% NW European but...heh. Nope. My dad's mother was half German and half southern France. I really am a mutt! My dad's father was 100% English going back many generations, and since there is England on my mother's side, I guess that makes the majority of me English, but there's certainly a lot of genetic distraction there. Indian - weird.
ROOSTA
Missed 90°F by .1° SO FAR and appears temperature has peaked, only 5 more days. Oh Joy. Broke down and put the A/C in the windows. Don't mind the heat it's the humidity. No mas.
HIPPYVALLEY
Clouds helped the cause today. peaked at 90. 89/69 now. Typical July heat. Today seemed much more tolerable than some of the low and mid 80's days the past few weeks. 5 hours of yardwork and I'm ready for a brewski. Nothing more draining than trying to reason with a toddler on a hot humid day that it's time to go in.
