I cant wait to get a swell in here. Do u recall the storm that sat s of bermuda last year for several days as a very large but relatively weak 65-85 mph storm and sent like a week of swell?

Leslie or Rafael? both generated some surf but I think Leslie caused like a weeks worth of great surfing conditions.

Leslie sounds right it was later in aug

Yeah, Leslie was early September and there were some phenomenal waves. They were really clean waves too, none of the blown out crap that's usually associated with most of our storms.

Yup, watched reds and purples on the radar move straight S from Brattleboro, never seen that before. Scariest wx event I've been through.

Same here.  We were in bed sleeping,  so there was no radar tracking going on.  But when that wind hit, it really did have that freight train sound.  I always thought it was funny how people always describe the winds in tornadoes as sounding like that.  But, best way to describe it.

My road was closed for a couple days due to trees down.  As it hit, we had a tree come down from the Pit that took out wires and droped them all along the street.   I called 911 to tell them that we had wires down.  I remember the phone ringing a long time before it was answered with the voice on the other side asking "what town are you calling from", I replied and they said 'hold on' and put me on hold for a few minutes and then was directed to a central state police line that took the call.  Little did I know that I was just one of hundreds of calls I'm sure they received wihtin just a few minutes.  Being a guy ftw wrt to bathrooms when no power to the pump.
