Kev its like bangin ur head against a wall, the majority dont like heat, if it doesnt break a record the way they like, it doesnt count.

Bottom line is we have had record or near record continuous dews for many, when measured from one stand point or another, overnites have resembled ORL . How often can new englanders say that? BDL , HFD ,IJD PVD and TAN OWD have all had (by friday) 30 nites of swamp ass like we live in disney world, very very rareMeh give me 1975 when it was 100 to the beaches and midnight temps in the upper 80s and the Governor ordered mandatory opening of all beaches. Total meh

How I remember stewing in my own juices in my south end loft. Too hot to fuk, my hot gf and I started the next day house sitting for friends with ac.

I think if you asked people if this was the hottest month ever (and I assume you mean recorded because we don't know all of history here), most people would say no. I've heard countless times that temps haven't been too bad but it's just been too humid. I call that a bootleg record. Besides, it's only been a few weeks, not months.

In terms of high temps, I'm just about right on normal for the first 13 days of the month.

I talk w many women age 30-60 every day and i talk about the heat and how the dews will be relentless lol, those w pools say this is the hottest their pools have ever been, ill start letting em now the pools are bootleg record warm

BHB hit 101 on 8/2/75, right near salt water, and it was still near 80 at midnight in BGR (before the most glorious BDF in history brought cloudy 70 for 8/3.)

In 1988 the heat and humidity rolled in on 7/4 and got worse and worse (or better and better, depending on preferences) thru 8/13, including PWM's highest TD of 77.  Everything in our basement turned green with mildew/algae.  It's been sticky (already 7 minima 60+, one more than my avg for all of July) but it's not in 1988's class yet.

Well pools normally cool off at night, but the water temp can't drop much with these warm overnight lows.

I think what some that may not be fans of heat are overlooking is that the heat index's in sne in the afternoon (thanks) to dews have had more 3 tp days . If its 86/73 for a few days in a row, is that run if the mill pm wx? We know its not

Yeah granted I obviously can't speak for SNE coastal plain and CT Valley, I'm just saying in my opinion it hasn't been that bad for what is like a +5 July up here so far.

But I also forget that a lot of those hot/humid days, we've had afternoon tstorms everyday that do a great job of knocking temps down during max daytime heating. We had the daily 2-4pm storms wet bulb down to like 70F and then never recover...it didnt allow for high max temps with that pattern up here.

Yeah that's essentially what I figured.

You can't get the hottest July ever without getting really hot days near U90s into lower 100s.

I mean never say never I guess, but it takes a lot more than muggy nights to do it.

I just don't see how the hottest month of the year could set record temperatures with daytime highs that have averaged pretty close to normal.

I'm speaking purely temperature...not real feel or heat index or whatever.

I hear u pf, im not blizz, im sayin were havin record dew streaks and the pm feels damn oppressive w dews and temps mostly in 80's (10 90's in bos i think) then after this week 14 or so

Yeah it has been record humidity (at least from the streak we had of overnight mins above 60F up here prior to the last couple nights)....but I'm just separating dews from temps and in that regard the temps haven't struck me as record levels. But it's open to interpretation if you are talking head index or how it feels out. I just like using actual values to discuss record warmth or cold, vs perceived feel.

Right now bos is 5.2+ and orh 5.4 but today will knock that back a tad and this week w prob push it higher by a smidge . I wasnt thinkin highest ever july departures but since its being discussed or separated what the heck is boston highest july departure. I think by end of week(fri) were lookin at 5.4 and 5.7 respectively

1988 is still the worst in my book. Stinky skanky mess. This is getting close for gross
