The ridge is a cap lid for anything. The pattern is crap for daily convective chances, however, there should be a pretty decent severe weather threat if that trough becomes established and slides a front east...it may not happen here, but somewhere in the Northeast is primed for a big event
Ginx snewx
On a related note... I think technology has advanced enough to the point where we should be able to get up to the minute obs from every ASOS/AWOS site out there. Most of the PWS sites have uploaded obs every 5-10mins. Having to wait an hour for the next "official" ob seems a little prehistoric. And no, I don't want to call an ASOS for the most recent updated ob. /rant Thanks for this as I concur

mattb65
Some solid marathon training progress today, Went out for 7.6 miles at 7:30 min/mile pace and ended up completely drenched in sweat but significantly more comfortable than last week when dews were in the 70s under full sun. Slow progress toward the goal for Boston next year. If Kevin and I both run, I expect full weenie support. I'm hoping to run for Leukemia and Lymphoma this year but I've been told that it'll be very competitive to be on the team with mega interest this year after the bombings. I'll share a link if I get selected to the team. Happy weekend all.
mattb65
Joyful to see Sox fans in their glory every year pre All Star, really is. It's funny and true - as a sox fan I always have to bite my tongue cause so many times the pre-all star break gloating comes back to bite sox fans in the ass. I must say though, this year has a good feel, but caution flags flying with the starting rotation. If Lackey can keep up his re-birth this year, the sox have a shot at making some noise imo assuming buch comes back healthy.

As a team who is rebuilding and many thought may really struggle..they are doing well with the combo of decent pitching, but great hitting. A breath of fresh air after that disaster last year.
