FrederickWX
last day of cold norms today..until August 7th...next 34 days have a norm of 79.5 or 80 I'm ready! Got some beach time planned over the next couple of months, so it's all good.
FrederickWX
A few showers popping in MoCo too. Assuming it holds together, that batch of showers redeveloping west of Fredericksburg may impact southern/eastern parts of MoCo. Out here in western Frederick County, I'm too far west, I think. Hoping for some popup activity though.
Stormpc
Lots of thunder/lightning in the storm overhead the house. Lost power for a few seconds. Pouring. Enjoy it, those upstream. Probably the best storm of the year at my home, and that's not saying much.
mattie g
That nice cell coming over Occoquan Reservoir may slide just to my east. If not, it's going to dump.
adelphi_sky
I have a feeling that the stuff to the west of DC has just enough pivot to swing up into MoCo and miss DC. I hope I'm wrong, but it's looking that way. The strom headed toward Fairfax is our best shot.

wxmeddler
The new weather station is up and running online! This week provided a great testbed to compare the two and the new one with the 24 hr Fan Aspiration definitely helps. I also painted that section of the roof white to reflect sunlight and that helped a little also. Best of all, the rain gauge is actually within 2% tolerance (more like 1%) and no more transmission issues! http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KMDSEVER7

Avdave
Left Loudoun Co around 420pm and made it to Roanoke, Va around 745pm. One stop for eats. Sun and clouds all the way thru winchester and hit some light showers on I 81 near Harrisonburg, VA then cleared out again. Def could see the storms and rain on the top of the appalachian trail south of Waynesboro on top of the mtns. Hit rain again around Lexington and some heavier downpours near buchanan, VA. Got about 10 miles north of ROA and just cloudy and some blue skies to the east from Roanoke. Will decide which way to take to get to AVL tomorrow depending on the weather. Got some really neat clouds shots on the way down here though
