adelphi_sky
it is still not moving due east... moving NE and there is stuff west of Richmond. Dont you people know how to look at a radar? Oh I agree that it's moving NE, but I'm referring at the heavy echos on the radar that are heading toward the bay, not here (DC). I know it's raining drizzling here and more rain MAY come. But I would have liked somthing a little more....exciting to watch out my window as I work. It looked so promising this morning.

WinterWxLuvr
today's radar brought to you by subtropics Subtropics might be happy with a temp of 104, dp of 88, and rainfall to the point of every yard and street being one continuous aquarium. usedtobe
june 2006 redux I tried commenting to your comment on the CWG article. The lack of a good boundary makes this a tough call but during that event the heavier rainfall shifted west a little on the two heaviest rainfall days. Rich Grumm and I wrote something on the 2006, actually Rich did most of the writing and plots. He just put my name on it because we texted about the event I think before it became of heavy rain maker. The paper is shown below if anyone is interested. http://cms.met.psu.edu/sref/severe/2006/26Jun2006-SREF.pdf

Your comment was fine. The patterns are pretty similar. During 2006 the models forecast the frontal boundary west of us but outflow from the initial convection held weak surface boundary farther east and that is where the heavy rain focused. mattskiva
Still dropless. At least I finally got my mostly cloudy though. If they issued flash flood watches for mostly cloudy, we'd be the jackpot here over the last three days. 6 feet of mostly cloudy, 0.00" of actual precipitation. EDIT: Just after I posted, the screen updated to 0.01" - WOW! Apparently all of the humidity has condensed and merged with some light drizzle to finally turn the bucket over. Time to start building the ark! Two of every animal, here I come! OK, that was unnecessary. Something about excessive humidity outside sends my sarcasm off the charts. At this point, I would take anything over this suffocating airmass - even 100/59 would be a nice change.
