Ian
That's pretty low isn't it?It's a little below the 81-2010 avg but not many.. Like 3. I don't see how we will get a whole lot more myself given what the pattern looks like ahead but who know.

mattie g
79 for the high today. already down to 68 with dp 55. skies clear, so we should be good for mid 50s again. love it. 68 here, too. Even so, I'd be shocked if we get into the 50s. Just seems odd to me.
WinterWxLuvr
68 here, too. Even so, I'd be shocked if we get into the 50s. Just seems odd to me. We've been in them 3 times in a week, twice below 55. Already 64. Easily heading to the 50's again tonight.

Ian
I guess that fact just highlights what the last two summers were. Those summers are horrible baselines in any discussion of what's normal. Hopefully. No doubt a mostly sunny 84 isn't your most common late July day in these parts, but many summers do feature at least some cool days somehow. Highs have been very moderate overall though.. nothing super interesting there when it comes to heat really.
jacindc
We share a birthday, nice. Although yours is a few years earlier, old fart . I'd be calling you outside for some fisticuffs if my arthritis weren't kicking in.

EastCoast NPZ
55F for the low this morning. wonderful stretch of weather for July - which is almost over! only 1 more month of summer to go and no heatwaves on the horizon (yet)!! I always feel like any really blistering heatwaves are probably confined to the first two-weeks of Aug out here as the nights are quickly becoming longer. I don't really know, or even want to, if that feeling is grounded in fact, but it gives me light at the end of the tunnel.

MN Transplant
64.5 at home. The higher elevation areas were 63-65 and the lower ones were around 60. Amazingly, another PWS was added near me this week on wunderground, bring the total to 10 in about a 3 mile radius of my house.

The clock is ticking on summer. It can be warm for quite some time, but we are getting close to the time when the sun angle begins its 90 day rapid decline, nearly 33 degrees worth (our location). Are these the Wunderground stations? If so, I know how to access them.

mattie g
Local PWSs were all around 62 this morning. Amazing that we could only drop 4-5* from 11:00-6:00 under mostly clear skies.

FrederickWX
July Max will probably finish dead on normal with mins near +3 Makes sense really - outside of the one week with scorching heat, most of the month has been a little below normal, or close to normal for highs. Are the average mins updated every year, based on the last X years? Given the growth of urban areas, it's not a surprise that it gets more difficult to hit average mins, even under a cool airmass. And the mins for the week of heat were insanely high anyway, which probably skewed averages for the full month.
