WinterWxLuvr
It does? I only can remember a few storm events where we lost radar (one was recent though, so maybe that's what you're thinking of?) Or do you mean it dries up? It just seems that when I'm most interested in the radar, it goes seemingly forever without updating. I use the NWS site, so maybe I need a new site? MN Transplant
Anybody got the site that shows GFS max/min, precip, etc in table format for the next 16 days. I believe it shows it every 6 hours? http://wxweb.meteostar.com/sample/sample.shtml?text=Kdca
Avdave
I think you've got a shot. The south end of that blob just keeps redeveloping as the whole batch shifts east. Edit: what's been most impressive is the lightning with it. Yeah we may get it if it holds over that last ridge, otherwise it doesnt happen here lol. We will see. This is usually about the time when Sterling radar craps out. It says it is down for maintenance
mattie g
I'm so tired of this. Hot and humid for days no days on end, but just enough rain to make things more humid - not even enough to measure.
Avdave
Yeah we may get it if it holds over that last ridge, otherwise it doesnt happen here lol. We will see. It says it is down for maintenance N/M it is working now

Click and drag on the image to zoom, controls/looper is on the right.

I use the NWS site, so maybe I need a new site? I can't speak for other data sources but I'm using Allisonhouse with GR 2 Analyst and have had uninterrupted data. So the radar itself is not down. Also - might be your internet cache or something similar. Yeah we may get it if it holds over that last ridge, otherwise it doesnt happen here lol. We will see. It says it is down for maintenance Must be just on NWS page - I am getting uninterrupted data via Allisonhouse.

EastCoast NPZ
Well, this has been an enjoyable evening. We finally cashed in. 1.25" with 3 separate storms.

MN Transplant
Any chance of the GFS lows verifying Thurs and Fri morning? No. Ian and I were talking about it in the heat thread. At one point the GFS raw output had 52 for DCA on Friday while MOS had 66. MOS will be much closer.
wxmeddler
Should be some heavy rain squalls within there at times, I see a few ZDR columns 3-5kft above the melting layer. Indicative of liquid water in a below freezing freezing environment. Only way to get that is with a fairly powerful updraft.

Kmlwx
I see outflow from around Purcellville down to Middleburg then curving west from there. That might hurt chances farther east.
