mattskiva
Just passed 4" storm total here in Chantilly, continuous rainfall moderate to heavy since 10:15pm (2.5 hours). Still absolutely pouring out there, but I am going to bed. On the second floor, in case my house turns into a houseboat while I am sleeping. 1.16" in the last 52 minutes. Lots of thunder and lightning. Enough already.

mattskiva
Are any of these strikes touching the ground? I am considered a jebwalk through the neighbordhood with the scubagear but I don't want do get struck and die. Yes. One of them hit across the street from here about an hour ago. Not sure what it hit but it was simultaneous daylight-intensity lightning and thunder loud enough to set off car alarms. It may even have been a positive strike.
