If this was snow, some of us would be going ballistic

Some 2" p/hr rates showing up on LWX 1hr total rainfall map

Dulles had almost 15 minutes straight of 3.5"/hour rain rates, another 0.53" already this hour.

Rain is really starting to fire up again down by Warrenton and seems to want to head up toward IAD.

Imagine if this keeps up for several more hours out there. I know you have been hoping for a 2006 redux lol - maybe it'll drift into DC and get you.

My address is Chantilly.

I am now at 0.62" in the last 19 minutes, and 3.25 total since about 10:15pm.  And still pouring with thunder and lightning.

Look at the little cell that developed just east of Baltimore in the bay. I wonder if that's the start of more of a north and east extension.

It's all on that boundary, and that cell is now at 30kft. I'm searching through wunderground PWS's trying to find the boundary trigger.
