I went outside and felt a couple stray spits, but that's about it. Distant lightning and thunder, too.

I won't mind missing a deluge, but a little rain would be nice.

This rainstorm is insane.  It's right over me - very localized FFW listing northwestern PW, southeastern Loudoun, southwestern FFX - I am in far SE loudoun, about 150 yards from FFX and 1.5mi north of PW.

So far 2.75" of rain in the last 75 minutes, with more than 1.5" of that falling in one 35 minute period of time.  Still pouring with thunder and lightning.

My sump pump is working overtime.

If this was snow, some of us would be going ballistic

Some 2" p/hr rates showing up on LWX 1hr total rainfall map

Dulles had almost 15 minutes straight of 3.5"/hour rain rates, another 0.53" already this hour.

Rain is really starting to fire up again down by Warrenton and seems to want to head up toward IAD.
