Mrs.J
Sun is breaking out here now. Went to the Earth Space and Science Lab, part of FCPS, to watch a Planetarium show. The Observatory which is usually open was not because of the cloud cover. The kids were a bit disappointed but we can always go back.
MN Transplant
84/75 would be the first negative departure on the month at DCA (-0.5), but I'm betting we squeak in a late day high of 85+. Just hit 83.9 on my home station.

Bizarre. *edit to change the late day high on the 9th

MN Transplant
Best summer that I can remember and because of the mins, DC is still almost +2. What is really interesting is that because it is the weather affecting the lows, and not the river and heat island as much, IAD (+3.1) and BWI (+2.9) are running further above average than DCA (+1.8). WxUSAF
Low of 78. I think that's normal for mid-July, right?
Deck Pic
I think that's normal for mid-July, right? In July 2009, our average low in July was 68.0...it can be done with the right pattern....As MN said, it is really the pattern more than anything...having ridging to our east has killed us with tropical, disgusting air masses
WxUSAF
July lows in the 60s seem almost mythical after the last 3 summers (note that I moved back to the region in August 2009).

I am pretty sure I was watching the newscast when he made the climate change comment - though I cannot remember exactly what he said. But I do remember at the time, looking up at the TV with a raised eyebrow. I didn't realize he was getting so much negativity from it

Hmmmm....I would have thought the same. Tony came of as the more level headed one out of the two of them IMO. Kinda disappointing he said that if the reports are accurate on what aired.
