Scuddz
Spent yesterday moving all the stuff that we can do without in the apt for the next couple weeks. It's amazing how much crap I haven't even looked at in the 3 yrs since I moved in there. I have a feeling we're going to be tossing a lot of stuff once we open these boxes. Also, it was hot. Deck Pic
The se ridge is going to kill us over the next 5-6 days....but still upper 80s to low 90s with a 93-96 possible 1 or 2 days.....no death dome signal anywhere.....More and more evidence that we cool down in about a week as we get blocking, and trapped cold air gets pushed south...and the se ridge disappears...I still like a period mid month of 85-88/67-71 for at least 2-3 days, maybe more.....ultimately blocking will get us warm again...but other factors can mitigate it..I do think the pattern is still "volatile" for July which is to say not very volatile...but I don't expect 92/74 day after day...there will be some variation both ways...we may even have a bad bust in our favor in the next 5-7 days

Avdave
Thanks all! We definitely picked it bc of the yard and pool. The elevation is plus. The house needs some work but its ours and we are happy. Enjoy The Biltmore, Dave! J and I went a few years ago and loved it! I'll miss you fozzy and your beetle around town Yeah it is an awesome place, been there once before back in 1997 or so. Turned out to be a great day and full sunshine. Now waiting for a small line from the upstate to reach us here

EastCoast NPZ
4.45" for the month already. Incredible. .06" IMBY. I'm headed down your way tomorrow for a week at Smith Mountain Lake. Kinda hope that the deluge is over by then. I wonder what effect all the flooding will have on the lake?
Disc
Incredible. .06" IMBY. I'm headed down your way tomorrow for a week at Smith Mountain Lake. Kinda hope that the deluge is over by then. I wonder what effect all the flooding will have on the lake? Believe it or not, Smith Mountain Lake has been down this year. Right now it looks to be right at full pond and holding steady there. I've only seen it flood once and that was several years back from some sort of tropical remnants (Can't remember what storm. 2004?). I remember walking out on our dock and the water was almost up to my knees.

I wonder what effect all the flooding will have on the lake? From what I saw on TV today you will want to go down the lake a good bit, the upper end is full of junk (trash, trees, etc) from river run-off. Disc- I am at 4.72 for month, plus there is +-.15 in gauge from today that will be reported at 7 am. Getting close to the 5 mark, almost an inch a day average! Subtropics
Hoping we can hit 95 temp and 76+ dew. After the mix out, I hope for HI between 105-110 for DCA. Going to be tough, but I need this and am willing to aim high for the sake of making the victory that much sweeter. Edit: If it looks like we can hit HI of 105+, I will do my 10 miler "Jeb"run during the most extreme time period.

Cool video Disc. Agree on the rain, managed to get 0.01 around midnight, eight days in a row with precip and 11 of last 13 here. Hoping we can hit 95 temp and 76+ dew.
