What happened to the "Big Wet 2013" which continues to greet us each time??

3-5" area wide forecasted, all  kinds of flood watches and warnings and the bulk of it ends up 2-300 miles further west.

Agree, except there looks like much more east too?  Had  .12 of sprinkles the past week, 100% bust forecast here, maybe running sprinkler soon?

It is down here and south....

3.39" from 7am yesterday-7am this am, 4.45" for month now. Wet, wet, wet.

Roanoke and Blacksburg setting record rain amounts for dates in past 48 hours.

Only a couple clouds here on the eastern shore. Looks great for playing on the beach, cooking out and lighting some fireworks.

Sounds pretty sweet wx out there, enjoy.

Sun was out this morning here in Roanoke, but clouds playing hid n seek with it. Time to head further SW towards Bristol, TN and to WNC

Happy July 4th everyone

That's Death Valley bad and I'm not exaggerating, because since it's so dry there, a 125 degree day may have the exact same heat index :axe:

Not sure the idea is totally accurate. 115+ definitely feels terrible even if its dry.

So it looks like SNE is getting a major heat wave with a 100+ degree heat index while most of us aren't even hitting 90.

Makes me lol

My gf and I are in NYC for the fireworks and O's games this weekend and even tho there's a heat advisory, it's beautiful out. When it comes to heat, no one is as good as the swamp of the MA. Wimps here.

main plus today is very clear skies compared to norm in july.. pure tropical airmass instead of continental crap.

Why is tropical humid airmass less hazy than a continental one? I can't rationalize why that would be the case even though I know it is.

Looks like those showers turned your world upside down :P

Hah. Hysterical game of chairs this afternoon. Finally a beautiful evening and clear sky. Good fireworks viewing.

Awesome week if you like a continuous hodge podge of events. If we didn't have cloud cover I would have been toast on the the lake.

Only moving I will be doing is from my beach chair to a raft. Another warm but nice day ahead. Bay water is way warm an barely any jellyfish.

Right now I'm waiting on Comcast at the house. The hubby is at the apt waitin in the movers. God bless daycare for both the little one and the dog, makes the day much easier.

Enjoy the beach!
