The new weather station is up and running online! This week provided a great testbed to compare the two and the new one with the 24 hr Fan Aspiration definitely helps. I also painted that section of the roof white to reflect sunlight and that helped a little also. Best of all, the rain gauge is actually within 2% tolerance (more like 1%) and no more transmission issues!

Left Loudoun Co around 420pm and made it to Roanoke, Va around 745pm. One stop for eats. Sun and clouds all the way thru winchester and hit some light showers on I 81 near Harrisonburg, VA then cleared out again. Def could see the storms and rain on the top of the appalachian trail south of Waynesboro on top of the mtns. Hit rain again around Lexington and some heavier downpours near buchanan, VA. Got about 10 miles north of ROA and just cloudy and some blue skies to the east from Roanoke.

Will decide which way to take to get to AVL tomorrow depending on the weather. Got some really neat clouds shots on the way down here though

87/75 is the highest dew point reading I have ever seen at DCA. Can someone remember a higher reading?

What happened to the "Big Wet 2013" which continues to greet us each time??

3-5" area wide forecasted, all  kinds of flood watches and warnings and the bulk of it ends up 2-300 miles further west.

Agree, except there looks like much more east too?  Had  .12 of sprinkles the past week, 100% bust forecast here, maybe running sprinkler soon?

Only a couple clouds here on the eastern shore. Looks great for playing on the beach, cooking out and lighting some fireworks.

Sounds pretty sweet wx out there, enjoy.

Sun was out this morning here in Roanoke, but clouds playing hid n seek with it. Time to head further SW towards Bristol, TN and to WNC

Happy July 4th everyone
