Just had a  tropical deluge.  Got `1.1 in maybe 20 minutes.  I was walking across the yard and you could hear it coming, like a band of sleet in the leaves.  No scout drops, just the clouds bursting open.  The thing about these downpours is the tender grass shoots from the seed I put out to stop the wash out, got washed out :)  One day I had grass coming up everywhere, and the next it was scoured clean again.  I'd have had better luck trying to remember to turn on the sprinkler every day.  Not really complaining as much as rumination on how an inch spread out over 24 hours would please me even more, lol.  T

Wooo hoooo!  :weight_lift:

Greensboro is getting hammered.  3" radar estimate of rainfall in the past 1 hour.  Storm is just sitting over them and amazingly shows no weakening. If anything, it has gotten stronger in the past 15 minutes.  Flood warning was issued about 30 minutes ago.

Meanwhile here, a few miles SW, it's a bright sunny afternoon.

Same thing happened here. I'm 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the airport   :(

Pfft that is a daily occurrence down here. But this is terrible lol. A daily rainfall record set, but your backyard is sunny. Lol that sucks.

Last week's four day stretch of consecutive 90-degree days at GSO was the first time since early August 2012 (Aug 1-5) that the Triad recorded more than three days in a row of 90 degree temps. The last three day heatwave occurred Aug 31- Sept 2 in 2012; Aug 7-12 2011; Aug 28-Sep 3 in 2010; and Aug 17-19 in 2009; and Aug 1-7 in 2008. The lastest 90's occurred on Sept 2 in 2012 and2011;Sept 25 in 2010; Aug 27 in 2009; and August 7 in 2008.

Looks, on the face of it, like I could get some rain this evening.  Be interesting to see if the Haarp DeRainalizers are cranking along the  border.  All the good stuff has been missing me the last few days.  And the leading edge seems to be dissolving along the Ala line. T

The average temperature in Columbus for July is 79.9. The average temperature for Hartford, CT? 80.4°. Boston's average temperature, all of these as of the 23rd, is 79.0°. An even bigger difference is Atlanta with an average temperature of 77.4°.

The longest stretch of 90+ degree temperatures Columbus has seen is 5, in June. Hartford (and Boston) finished up a stretch of 7 days of 90+ degree heat last week.

Hartford, CT has had 12 days of 90+ degree heat... Just this month, and 19 for the year! Boston has also had 12 days of 90°+ heat this month with 17 total for the year. Atlanta... has seen 6... all year!

I'm enjoying the heck out of this cooler, and wetter, than average summer. :D

I agree. It beats last year. One bad thing about the wetter conditions is the humidity (dew points above 70). I'm really hoping for some lower humidity days.
