SN_Lover
I just thought this was pretty interesting. Remember when we all were astounded when the polar vortex was over Siberia last winter? looks like they are above normal for this year since start of spring. and portions of the united states below. hopefully we can keep this up going into winter let me know if i posted in the wrong thread. the image below is temp anomalies since start of spring. downeastnc
Had a lot of loud close thunder, at least 1" of rain and some folks are even saying they saw some hail in this storm we just had. I am at work so I didnt really get a chance to see much but folks out on their "lunch" break said it got pretty nasty.
CandymanColumbusGA
Here are some great weather stats for you this morning! Yes, it's Alabama/Georgia centric, but many others haven't seen a slew of 90+ degrees (outside of this week's heat which is also adding to the Northeast's totals). metalicwx366
Lol at the heatwave up there in the mid Atlantic. Joe bastardi is right, so much hype. There wasn't even that much hype from the media last year. I bet our heat index will be warmer than all of the heat indices up there today. 84/96 dewpoint is 79. No one can beat that. Marion_NC_WX
Heat and humidity combined, its going to be the most uncomfortable day of Summer 2013 for North Carolina...dewpoints are running into the low 70's all the way up to the Blue Ridge. Mid 70 dewpoints begin once you drop below the South Mountain Range (McDowell, Burke, Rutherford Counties)

jburns
I wouldn't be surprised to see a flash flood warning come out for Surry county. Stationary storm has been pounding them for over an hour and actually looks like it has gotten stronger in the last15 minutes.

Very slow moving severe thunderstorm.

Oh, but that storm near the SC/NC border is beast. I wish I was there. 4 inches an hour. calculus1
Pretty crazy motion on these storms as they are moving WSW in NC. This is quite anomalous from their normal ESE direction of motion.

Looking at the map, it would make sense for the storm to move that way. http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/sfc/90fwbg.gif
