IntenseBlizzard2014
That very impressive flow out of the tropics should continue for at least the next two weeks. 2013070612_054@007_E1_north@america_I_NAEFS@TEMPERATURE_anomaly@probability@combined@week2_186.png Ack. SACRUS
12z guidance showing the next epansion of the western atlantic ridge by the 15th into the middle of July. Its showing a similar progression to what we just went through 6/29 - 7/7 for 7/11 - 7/6 (and beyond). Wet storms/rain by the 11th - 13th wth southerly flow before WAR builds back and heights rise. tmagan
It's still 84 at 12:51am. Unbelieveable. I remember a couple of years ago, we were all checking the KEWR hourly obs. wondering if they would get below 90 overnight.
Weathergun
Excessive Heat Warning now for NYC and extreme NE NJ. Heat index expected to reach 105 today.
Sundog
I can't remember the last time almost all the areas stations were around 80 at 7am. That is extreme impressive. Usually only the urban areas stay up like that but we have places like Islip and Brookhaven reporting similar temps.
bluewave
We could see severe storms around the region later today as the upper low ejects east into a very moist and unstable airmass with steeper mid level lapse rates than we have experienced recently. Any thunderstorms could drop torrential downpours with dews 72-75 and PW's approaching 2.00". The models are currently hitting interior zones highest where the best shear is expected to be. So will have to monitor the 12z guidance and radar trends for specifics.
winterwarlock
Its definitely been summery. Lots of humidity with a decent amount of heat. Not a cool or cruel summer despite some doom and gloom predictions
MJO812
81 right now. We are off to the races. A lot of places will be over 90 degrees.

Weathergun
Looks like Central Park didn't get below 80 last night. July 12-14th, now looks more unsettled, with more showers and t-storms around. But still warm and humid. The models have us more sandwiched in between the WAR building and cut-off low to our SW
weathermedic
Never got below 80 here this morning, even with a light sw breeze. Granted I'm not right on the water but 80 degree lows are not that common imby. Even JFK only made it down to

bluewave
The warmer low at NYC really didn't boost the 9 am temperature much beyond yesterday. 82 at 9am in NYC compared to 81 yesterday.
Isotherm
74 here this morning. No impressive lows yet as winds decoupled every night. My highest min was 74, highest temp 93. Largely unimpressive but the duration of 65+ td's has been impressive though.
