the WAR is getting stronger each run. i don't think we're going to see much of a break from the humidity

The GEFS take it to 600 dm next week. So it would be the 2nd ridge maxing out near 600 dm in around

a week.

i don't think we're done with the retrogression patterns

Seems like the pattern is repeating to some degree from late June to ealry July before the first WAR expansion July 4th.

Should see things progress 7/21 - 7/27 as warm/humid and wet.  Looks overall above normal.  It'll be interesting to time the next WAR expansion - guidance has been hinting some of the heat out west spills east into the Plains and troughing into the NW may lead to another linkage of the w ridge and WAR should we get the expansion early august.

NYC high 96

LGA breaks record with 100 at 3:56pm.

EWR had 100 again at 3:49pm. So that might be going up.

NYC can't buy a 100 degree reading with the vegetation and rainy pattern from May into early July.

The drier conditions of the last few years with the higher 850's were necessary.

The problem is that most media outlets will take Central Park's temp and say "New York City hit 96 today", when in reality the temps over 95% of the city were near or at 100.

Lots of storms in OH, OPA, WV and plenty of clouds and debris to pass through.  We'll see how hot we can get tomorrow ahead of the front and see how much sun we can get.  Could be 4th straight day of high heat (95+).  We should start off in the 80s again.   Outside chance of 90 on sunday for some of the warmer places before cooler weather Monday.
