The wunderground stations are usually too high with the dewpoints compared to the ASOS sensors .

I'm not referring to PWS. ASOS stations are exceeding heat advisory criteria.

KHWV's HI is at 105

As of yesterday Central Park sat at 80.8 degrees for the month. NWS lists the hottest month as 81.4 degrees in July 1999. I thought we beat that in 2010 but it lists that month as 81.3 degrees.

With the greatest heat still coming and only dipping to sightly above normal during our "cool down" I think we can make a run at the record.

If we see more 90s next week, water temps will really start to average above 80 for the entire area

While we have an outside chance of hitting 90 on Sunday, I think the two relatively more comfortable days will really be Monday and Tuesday. After that, I think the heat and humidity builds back in, not as extreme as this week, but we may be nearing 90 later next week. There could be a slightly more significant break in the heat and humidity according to today's 12Z GFS toward the very end of the month into the start of August, but I would not be shocked if the Euro were stronger with the WAR, did not show it, and was correct. We just have to wait and see.

Absolute bath water to the east of New England. This is partially why the West Atlantic Ridge (colloquial WAR) has been so strong this summer. The SSTA anomaly in some of our recent "cold" summers was generally polar opposite to the east of New England. Note the difference between this summer's NW Atlantic SSTA and 2004, 2003.

Wow, century mark. And it looks like the seabreeze has yet to clear them.
