IsentropicLift
The DJ on 101.1 is an idiot. He just said their is a tornado watch for Fairflield County. This is why the general public doesn't understand anything about weather.

Stormlover74
Yeah it definitely sounds like something moved through that area In Summit, at least seven homes were hit by falling trees -- all in the northwest section of the city, near the border with Chatham, said Public Works Director Paul Cascias."It's interesting how it's all in one area of town," Cascias said. He said he had seen the tornado warnings from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, but nobody reported seeing a wind spout or tornado."I don't know if it was a tornado or a micro-burst," Cascias said, adding that NOAA might determine that later.Three trees hit house on Belford Road, and houses were also hit on Hickory and Webster roads as well as Lafayette and Lowell avenues.Trees were also down across roads, including Prospect Avenue, which was closed."We going to be a long time cleaning-up," Cascias said.He had not heard any reports of injuries. However, Casias said he also heard of trees down and other damage in nearby Berkeley Heights. Other authorities also said they didn’t believe a twister touched down in the Garden State. “We’ve had heavy rain, but no winds – not at this point,” Millburn Police Captain Michael Palardy said around 9: 40 a.m. Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura, the county’s emergency management coordinator, said the winds “swirled” and became “a little freaky for a second,” but passed without inflicting any structural damage. “It looks like it blew by us,” Fontoura said. It's interesting, despite some deep convection over the area, SBCAPE is still decent

IsentropicLift
thin cape with a saturated profile... that's how you get flooding events Looks like most of the modeling had the gravy train 50-100 miles to far west today. Most of it continues to be focused on a line from about Philly to CT.

IsentropicLift
See now on a day like today with all of these small spin ups going on, some of them so quickly that they aren't even being warned, today would make more sense for a tornado watch it seems.
