I don't know about you guys, this is probably conformational bias, but ever since 2011 or so, I've expected high temps in the summer seem to come out a little higher than forecast.  If Newark is being forecast for 95-97 for like 5 days in a row then I'm just expecting it to hit 100.  Not that there's really a huge difference but people like to see those triple digits.

By the way check out that cyclone rapping itself up over Texas.

JFK already up to 87 degrees at 9am. West wind doing it's thing.

JFK is the hotspot this hour. With Central Park at 82, it may have trouble getting much above 94-95 later with the

wet conditions there going back to June. I will bet the temperatures come in below the NWS numbers.

Central Park is already having issues. CWOP just outside the park was at 85 at top the hour. It's been in line with it the last few days. They'll probably catch up later this morning and then stop between 1-3pm, as usual.

That's why the high for the month so far is 92 at NYC and 96 at EWR and LGA.

These are the types of summer days that highlight the issues wuth  using the park as the center for NYC (in your other thread).  Anyways 100 certainly in reach for EWR, JFK, LGA and some others

11AM here's where we were at, at 11.  The old rule add 10 to the 10 AM (EST) temps may be too high.  Add 7

Seeing some clouds working there way nw to se into parts of the city and NJ.  This has allowed tems to drop or stay at the current mid 90s peak.  It does look to clear a bit in the next hour so we could see late PM highs again...  GFS closing in on 100 later this week.

NYC 94

JFK 96

LGA 93

EWR 96

BDR 94

ISP 93

clouds are causing small jumps and drops in temperature this afternoon. you'd think with technology now we'd be able to get asos obs continuously instead of waiting for hourly reports.

Well, it's 2013 and the Central Park thermometer is still coveted under thick shrubs, so apparently you might be asking for too much.
