SACRUS
Looking ahead we should see temps near normal after the front next weekend before the mean trough backs west into the lakes and mid west. As we head towards the 24th we may see the WAR rebuild west again and set the stage for more heat on/around the 25th
Weathergun
Highs this week likely occur from 3-7pm. The models show the highest 850mb temps and deepest mixing during the late day hours. I expect most stations to max out between 95 and 100.

SACRUS
Could NYC (central park or LGA) hit 100 this week with the extended heat wave? I dont think the park will reach the century mark this next heat wave. 850's on the cusp and excessive rainfall will limits areas with vegeatation. It will be close for EWR, LGA, TEB, etc... If the 2006, 2001 analog has legs then the potential exists for a stronger heat wave in August.

Wxoutlooksblog
I think it will happen. I think there's at least a 50% chance CPK hits 100 this week. In fact, this week has some resemblence to me of that extremely hot week in the middle of July 1977. WX/PT
WE GOT HIM
Looking at the models this weekend should give us one of the best organzied storm chances we have had in awhile... Also the ocean is much warmer now which should help negate the marine layer. Hopefully the timeing is right with the front.

tmagan
Central Park hit 90, I'm shocked. The regularly scheduled CLINYC had a maximum temperature of 89 at the regularly scheduled release at approximately 4:40, then updated it an hour later, if my records are right.
