HailMan06
Northern somerset, morris, bergen and now Westchester all had damage or met severe criteria. a watch doesn't mean everyones going to see something I can confirm the storm was indeed severe. I hadn't noticed any damage since it was dark but will be driving around to look for any. The winds here were strong enough here to cause damage. This storm was impressive and it takes as a lot for me to say that.

IntenseBlizzard2014
Any chance we will be affected by Chantal (or more likely, what is left of it)? If the Eastern Canadian Ridge is stronger and West-Based, then the remnants will probably get up here.
GiantBlizzard2003
It looks like today should be a better day for storms to reach the NYC area. Storms are beginning to form in C PA and should move through the area in the mid afternoon during the peak heating.
Weathergun
I think we are looking at more pulsing and slow-moving t-storms this afternoon. Wind fields look weaker than yesterday.

Yeah the stuff in PA is moving very slow and won't likely make it here. We'll need new storms to form over us to see much.

easternsnowman
They don't issue a heat warning for the temp but for the possible heat index. That was expected to be in upper 90s to lower 100s. I do know the humidity is terrible where I currently live.

tmagan
LGA hit their high for the day of 96 at 7pm! You've got to be kidding me. Where is the heat coming from to warm them up beyond any surrounding station's temp at this hour? The sea breeze front moved back eastward. Sundog
The sea breeze front moved back eastward. They actually topped off at 98. But at that time there was not one reporting station around them with a temp anywhere close to that. The sun was also an hour and change from sunset. So my question is where did the heat come from to propel LGA to such a high temperature?
Wannabehippie
DP's still around 70 out here due to onshore flow I bet the temp is about 10 degrees cooler than in the city, which helps some.

Euro had 0.00" for yesterday and today. Wednesday and Thursday are the 2 days to watch for widespread convection and rain.
Quincy
Tomorrow looks like a nice day, similar to today, but an even slighter risk for showers and storms, in my opinion. I'll be heading down to Jones Beach for the first time this year. Looking like great beach weather at this point. Wednesday is when things could start getting fairly active again.
