bobbutts
Ryan were those radarscope images? I always wanted to know how to put those pics side by side. http://www.getpaint.net/ Just guessing but looks like he grabbed the frames and made the image in some program. The one I linked above is free and considered to be one of the easier ones to use. If you are going to be on the computer you might as well learn basic image manipulation anyway IMO. CoastalWx
It's just one of those days with crappy low level Mesos with little lightning. I don't see a big reason to bash SPC on one tornado, and I usually have no problem questioning them. I'm referring to convective outlooks not MCD. The 13z outlook or 16:30z? Anyways yeah I don't think you could bash them but I think in cases like this you have to debate, is a tornado watch worthy or not? Especially when you see warnings issued upstream. I mean would you say conditions today were favorable for tornadoes or not? That's the question I guess. That's the point of watches...if atmospheric conditions are favorable. Doesn't matter if weak or strong. Most of our tornadoes occur in setups similar to this

Doesn't matter if weak or strong. Most of our tornadoes occur in setups similar to this They sometimes are not very astute with our climo when it comes to severe wx. Sorry, but it is what it is. That said, I'm not sure conditions could justify a watch. How many confirmed? If Agawam was a tornado then we have two. We had a tornado from a half azz setup in SE MA back in April so it can happen and fairly benign setup. We didn't have an outbreak today so I wouldn't call today a classic outbreak setup, but it was a classic setup for a weak low level spin up. Maybe you can argue for a MCD or a watch after BDL tornado...but it probably could go either way.
