HIPPYVALLEY
Ton of squitos out while we wrap and burlap the balls of trees this morning. None biting though.. Man, I feel for anyone who has been working outside the past month. Sometimes I miss doing stonework but this summer I would have been on the verge of a breakdown. lol

powderfreak
Sounds we had a spinner touchdown down there. Nice Yes when there is some wind damage in New England, its always best to assume tornado. We can amend that to straight line downburst if we need to.
powderfreak
I84 block in place as nothing making it east of Hartford Yeah as has been the case in recent days, it looks like the worst of the rain will stay west of 84...though some of that stuff may slide just east of it. The stuff developing and moving north over Jersey should stay west and hammer the same areas again this afternoon.

forkyfork
without actually seeing the damage up close i can't be sure but it sounds like this may have been a tornado. the damage went from nothing to widespread trees down when i was driving http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2013/07/thousands_in_nj_without_power_as_rain_pours_down.html#incart_m-rpt-1 "In Summit, at least seven homes were hit by falling trees -- all in the northwest section of the city, near the border with Chatham, said Public Works Director Paul Cascias. "It's interesting how it's all in one area of town," Cascias said. He said he had seen the tornado warnings from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, but nobody reported seeing a wind spout or tornado." butterfish55
Well look at BOS. It hasn't been that bad. I've been at York beach for the past three days and its been great. Although, I think our luck might run out today. Looks like the shower in NEMass/SNH is coming right for us. Incredibly foggy on the beach right now.... About 1/16 mile visibility. Quite possibly could have been contained in a single gate, and present only in the lowest kilometer.

Mr. Windcredible!
Although we've missed out on any exciting thunderstorms here the past week...at least we've been spared the most of the rain. I'd be surprised if we've seen more than 1/4" in the past week. Looks like we get wet this afternoon though. Rain about on the doorstep.
