mattie g
Jesus...it f'ing dumped about 20 minutes ago. Crazy heavy rainfall for about 10-15 minutes - maybe the heaviest since Lee. Burke Road is crossed in two places. I'll go out an measure soon, but it's pouring again. Looking like I might be over 3" on the day* - about 1.5" from the first storm, and the same, if not more, from this latest round. * I'll eventually get a gauge, MN! MN Transplant
Multiple trees down in my neighborhood in Alexandria near Cameron station, power out, few streets blocked off.....all from the first cell around 1530-1545. Will try to upload pics when I can reliably do data on my mobile again. Absolutely no indication of wind here, so I'm guessing that we are down because of lightning. I don't know which is worse. Avdave
Amazing how west of FFX co got nothing. Outside of the edge of that cell over Ashburn that dropped some hail, we got a little rain and I mean little like .01 here in my gauge. Total waste here. Time to go water everything now. Humid and sucky out there
yoda
2.86" on day, 9.69" for month 10" should be an easy reach IMO... good chance of storms tomorrow and Sunday... doubt we reach much higher unless training occurs like today
mattie g
I measured 2.25" on the dot from the last round. Accounting for a little splash would drop me a little, but I'm confident in saying I ended with just on either side of 3.5" on the day. With roads and lawns flooded in my neck of the woods, it would certainly make sense.

Ian
10" should be an easy reach IMO... good chance of storms tomorrow and Sunday... doubt we reach much higher unless training occurs like today models dont have much instability tomorrow tho sref has pretty high odds of 1000 sfc cape 21-0z and the nam did awful yesterday for today's instability. shear is OK -- definitely pretty borderline. might be some iso svr tho not sure we'll pull off 6 in a row. BlizzardNole
Reporting in from the desert zone -- dry as a bone here of course but I just talked with my folks in northern Calvert and they have just been pummeled. Said the water in their pool is almost at the top (so 3-4" of rain) and the mulch got washed out of their garden beds. They are not happy. And now it looks like even more developing to their west? I will water my dry yard tomorrow morning. I'm confident we will see no rain here.
