 I was waiting for that.

Late-September climo for daytime highs? The high at SLK since like 12z looks like 54F on the hourlies.

I have been anywhere from 61-64F depending on cloud cover today...but holding in the low 60s in that 500-1000ft elevation band is impressive for July. Even BTV won't get out of the 60s during the daytime. Wet-bulb temps are like upper 40s in the Dacks to upper 50s in VT...autumn like.

LOL, well luckily I'm outta here tomorrow morning for vacation down south (NC/SC border).

Huh?

This is just what I've been waiting for.  ;)

Haha it's summer! The heat season is so short to begin with, let it be warm!

Nice...should be warm for you down there.

Coldest NWS CWA in the lower 48 right now is the BTV WFO...(by the way, tell whoever does BTV's social media that they do an awesome job on the daily maps, factoids, graphics, etc).

Down to 53F here, actually mowed the lawn without breaking a sweat! Clouds may limit how low we can go tonight but this definitly better than last week.

Yeah it looked like locally the clouds were thinning a couple hours ago but now back to complete slate gray overcast. Wind is pesky too. Bummer because a bunch of spots could go low with this airmass if we had good radiational cooling conditions.

All good things must come to an end.  It's been a pretty amazing month so far.

Highlights:

The streak of 60+ mins will end tonight after 26 nights.   Never ever thought I'd see something like that up here.

This month featured four 70+ mins, and many 68-69 mins.

A five day stretch of 90+ degree highs, which I believe is my longest ever.

None of that here. I had sneaky 59F mins or 89F highs to screw up streaks.

Down to 55/47 now. I was out a little earlier for my 22mph gust. It briefly felt like September.

Bottomed out at 43-44 this morning; my median for month-of-July minimum is 42.  Surprisingly, this year makes 9 of 16 Julys where the monthy minimum occurred 7/20 or later - seems counterintuitive.  No record for my place, though, as I recorded 40 on 7/25/02.

Came home from two days of near constant cold showers to find 2.40" in the gauge - wife said it poured Tuesday, especially late morn.  Forestry measured "only" 0,75" at Pittston Farm (north of Moosehead) but inearly all of it fell during the 7 hr we were surveying old partial cuts for high quality hare habitat.  Almost as wet yesterday though only scattered light showers.  However, the trees were still loaded, and pushing through the sapling thickets produced near constant drenchings.  After the first two minutes, one doesn't get any wetter.  ;)

I actually mowed in a fleece yesterday evening, so that was indeed quite a change from the previous few weeks, as was the temperature last night that dropped well down into the mid 40s F.  I had to run down to Church Street for an errand today, and boy was the weather glorious – sunny, dry, and just the right amount of warmth for walking around, but with that cool breeze that hinted of autumn.  We’ve been missing that type of weather this summer.  It definitely feels like September out there.

Could be a spectacular sunset for much of western and northern NE tonight. All clear in NY state and the underside of the cirrus overhead should be really lit up around 8:30pm.

Great color outside right now.  We're well hidden from a proper sunset here but the sky & vegetation have a nice glow working.  Pink on green.

I'm thinking tomorrow is east of here--enjoy in NH & ME.
