CoastalWx
May not feel like it down here, but we're juiced aloft. Dual-pol crushing legacy precip estimation so far. Occasionally, the instantaneous precip rates have been climbing over 5 in/hr. Definitely has the efficient rain producer look. Droplets are rather large in heaviest rain though. Amazingly wet around here before this rainfall. This area definitely has had their share of rain.

I've never seen them that close for that many events in a row. There's almost no error. Not bad for 8 years of use.

powderfreak
Fringe job up here... I was just over 0.3" this morning, and bet not more than another 0.1" has fallen. We'll certainly be below 0.5" for this one. Oh well, can't win them all
powderfreak
0.19" at 1V4...thank god this isn't a snow event. Classic downslope scenario and fringe job. lol, I'm not sure that's it... looks like just a fringe job. Most of northern VT outside the hills around Walden (2"+) missed the moisture train. You know when Jay Peak comes in with only 0.05", that it probably didn't have anything to do with upslope or downslope, lol. Just straight missed to the south. These are only through 7am, but still shows the relatively sharp cut-off right over this area.

The FAA maintains that site, so we have little control over getting it fixed. Plus, precip accumulation is a much lower priority for maintenance than wind, visibility, ceiling would be. EEN and 1P1 have historically been bad as well, but at least their totals make sense for this event.

Never been there but it sure sounds nice. I live about 150 feet from an awesome little ice cream shop on the waterfront with a somewhat unpronounceable and entirely un-spellable name. That's usually where I end up, though I haven't been there this year.

dendrite
Down to 61F with some light fog. Today will be a beaut. There's an outside shot at 40s here tonight, but increasing cloud cover, winds, and dews will have a say in that. Everything probably has to work out perfect to hit 49F.
