Find the 15-20 minutes the storm moved through in Mansfield at 3,950ft...

Being only a few miles away down the east slope, I wonder how much of this wind we mixed down. All hell must've broken loose up there between 735pm and 745pm (UTC time on the obs so subtract 4 hours).

I saw somewhere you said the trees were snapped at the base rather than uprooted. That would suggest 70-80mph rather than lower end 60mph.

Yeah there very well may be pockets of that. It's always interesting how localized it can be...one part of town sees some branches down, another has scattered tree damage, but locally around my house and within a half mile of me has seen tree damage that will be visible for a long time. But still in other parts of town you'll find one yard has nothing, while the next guy suffered total tree loss across the property.

No doubt on straight line wind damage though...literally every single tree down is facing southeast, haha.

This is my first witnessed severe wind event though so cross that off the bucket list. I've seen the usual 30-40mph gust with strong storms but not the 5-10 minute roar that happened yesterday.

Weak TS just passed thru here, winds gusted into the 20s, about half of those about 8:45 last night that spread branches around and dumped a large ash tree on the lines 100 yd down the road - just got power back about 2 hr ago.  I was at a retirement party in Alton (15 miles N of BGR) last night, and just as things were finishing about 9, lots of flashes and bangs, then the lights went out.  Fortunately, the place had a generator.  Driving Route 16 back toward I-95, we were dodging branches, trees, and powerlines in the road, at about 10 mph while watching near constant flashes.  10 miles south on the Interstate, dry pavement - storms must've been moving almost due W to E.  Just south of BGR we saw flickers way ahead, then saw an increasingly active cell getc loser until it nailed us with blinding +RA about 10 miles N of WVL.  I can't recall a 3-day stretch of strong/svr TS like what we've had W-Th-F.

After the spectacular events Wed-Thurs-Fri, yesterday's anticlimax shouldn't make for lamenting.  Had a couple rumbles and 0.03" around 4:30 as the brighter echoes split and passed N and S, then the good air began to arrive.  50s this morning with TD probably 50 or below, and headed down.

Long time no talk guys. Been over in PA for the summer at Accuweather...be back up in VT on 8/23 with continued (hopefully even better than last year) forecast analysis :)

Ahhh...missing the NE Kingdom fresh air?

Here's to a snowy winter...it always snows, it's just a matter of how much lol.

Honestly, central PA is muuuuch nicer when it comes to humidity compared to SNE. Not as nice as NNE though. And yes, I'm excited for snow.

Looking over some things quickly the last few weeks, looks like it could be a decent start to the season if things pan out like I think they possibly could!
