BTV...52mph

MPV...44mph

MVL and 1V4 are off-line...MVL here hasn't had any obs since the storm hit. Most of Lamoille County is in the dark.

I can't wait till tomorrow to be able to view the damage. From the road at night it's pretty extensive...even two power poles near my house were snapped by large trees. Saw one tree on a bank, side roads impassible due to trees down.

Photos tomorrow should be fun.

Looks like a war zone out here...I've got no less than 5 trees down across my private road, several uprooted, others just snapped. Around 10 trees on the property are total losses and that's just what I can see at night.

The oddest part is hearing numerous chainsaws going outside as Stowe Electric works through the night.

We have been told power could be quite a while away...thank god for 4G and a car phone charger haha.

Amazing wind in my backyard with that cell that just went through. Better than irene or sandy without a doubt. Had a huge tree come down in the backyard, luckily into the woods instead of my yard. Heard the gust coming up the road, well, more like 2 other trees falling up the street. Hardly any rain, most of the time the sky above me was half stars and half clouds.

Didn't get any severe stuff with that line last evening around here that I know of but the lightning show was impressive as hell.

The winds did come up pretty good before the rain (wind before rain, tops'ls remain)--thought for sure I'd hear cracks and snaps as the trees were swingin' & swayin' but other than a few sticks, I've seen no damage.

In case you didn't see it late last night, here are some pics/vid I took near Milton, VT:

In the video the best winds hit after 1:30 when an estimated gust to near 60 occurred. There were trees and limbs down in the area as in many parts of northern VT.

My damage photos...also posted in the severe thread. Still no power for video, but my road is getting cleared with a front-end loader now so that's a start.

Time to start cleaning up...heard chainsaws going all night to get the town roads open for this morning. 12 hours without power and it may be at least tomorrow till I get it back. This town got hit hard.

The driveway will take some work to clear.

The yard is a mess...

Out by the mailbox, more trees down.

Lots of clean-up already started but wires still down...

The 6 mile Rec Path looks like a bomb went off with trees everywhere.

Find the 15-20 minutes the storm moved through in Mansfield at 3,950ft...

Being only a few miles away down the east slope, I wonder how much of this wind we mixed down. All hell must've broken loose up there between 735pm and 745pm (UTC time on the obs so subtract 4 hours).

For sure! I think 60-70 was a good bet in Stowe based on those pics. The winds probably lasted a little longer than seen in my video as well. Either way it was awesome to watch as that "wall" advanced.

Just saw CON pulled off 49kt last night. There were some brutal min temps south of the storms overnight. Not so bad here though...min was 66F.

Pretty powerful storm.  The market days tents downtown got totally messed up.  Looks like similar winds occurred there and at Snow Bow's location too.
