A quick look at our 12-day rain streak that is on-going...

Here in Stowe it looks like we are *only* averaging about 1/2" per day over those 12 days.  Underhill on the west side of Mansfield is similar...

Meanwhile, J.Spin's location (Waterbury 3.0NW) is not that far off from averaging 1" per day.  Man, 9-10" in 12 days is pretty damn impressive.  That's rainforest quality right there.

Between letting the morning fog and dew dissipate, and our daily rains, I pretty much mow the lawn in patches using the tiny windows that Mother Nature gives me.  I just got about 20 minutes done before our recent downpour, and now I’m on the front porch enjoying the rain and waiting for the next opportunity.  We’re closing in on 30” of liquid for the calendar year, and 45” for the CoCoRaHS water year, so perhaps we’ll see another 60”+ total like 2011.  If this keeps up though, it’s only going to increase the annual average that I'm calculating for liquid here.

Mother Nature is back at it again; we were only grazed by the first part of the big line coming through, but we picked up 0.53” from that, and the next section could be a little tighter:

Got nailed with a thunderstorm at North Beach in Burlington today. It even had a Wall Cloud with it for a short time. Unfortunately it kind of ruined the day for many. I also took pics of the Winooski River in downtown Winooski. It is definitely running high. I don't know how much it has to rise to flood though.

Didn't realize you were a local. We should get a beer sometime.

That downpour was insane. I was trying to head south towards shoreham for an event and felt like my subaru was going to wash away off route 7.  Just a tremendous amount of rain in that cell.

NWS posted a flood warning - not flash- for the Winooski. Prob. going to crest with no additional rain just below 14 feet.  At 15 it floods downtown essex junction (I think).

Long term GFS doesn't give me a lot of hope that we're gonna hit a dry + hot spell anytime soon.

Guess that is just the way its gonna go.

No flooding rains here yesterday but once again, we couldn't avoid a thunderstorm and downpour to the tune of a half-inch.  WE were out on the boat on Lake Morey when it approached.  We ducked for cover a friend's house on the other side of the lake and then beat feet for home after it was over and it looked like another was on its way (though it ended up passing south of us).

The third picture PF posted is what I fear most for our driveway during times like this.  A few years ago a dirt road on the ridge across from us was completely washed out and yet our long driveway was relatively unscathed.

:icecream:  »-(¯`v´¯)-»  low of 70.4  »-(¯`v´¯)-»  :icecream:

Ditto.

We were 71F at 5Z, but it didn't really drop after that. MOS is puking out U90s to near 100F in S NH today. 850s get around 19C by 21Z this afternoon. It's a pick your own poison with mixing out...do you want 92/74 or 98/66? I would actually take the latter.

This was my favorite day of mixing out... dewpoint of 76 down to 56 with a high of 98.  I remember how strangely comfortable it felt compared to earlier that morning.

I couldn't see the date until I clicked, but that's the one that came to mind to me too.

Yesterday's rain... that all fell in like one hour.

Axis of 1.5-2.25" from Burlington and due east into Jerhico/Nashville/Bolton/Waterbury/Stowe on both the east and west side of the spine.

It sounds like the Nashville/West Bolton area had some really incredible flash flooding as well as rain poured down the west slope of the Spine.

Forecast says we may do it all over again... who will be the lucky ones this time?  Everyday for the past two weeks it seems, some spot gets hammered with around 2" of rainfall in a very short period of time prompting true flash flooding.

Flash Flooding photos from WCAX...

BTV yesterday...

Richmond... (Gov Peck Road, pretty major route in those suburbs)

RT 100 is closed at Granville Gulf which is huge.  That's a main north-south route in the Greens that goes from MA to Canada past all the ski areas.  Its closed between Killington and Sugarbush.

Lebanon, NH area from a couple days ago...

Who gets to lose their road today?

Awesome!

I noticed J.Spin is now over 11" in the past 13 days.  That's absolutely incredible to me.

In Stowe we are at 7.6" based on the village CoCoRAHS for that same 13 day period.  Still averaging over 1/2" per day for two weeks straight, but J.Spin's averaging close to 1"/day for almost two weeks is nuts.  Absolutely nuts.
