Finally got fed up with relying on nearby stations and a crude rain gauge for precip amounts, so ordered the standard CoCoRAHS rain gauge and will try to become a regular CoCoRAHS observer.

Will be sweet to have a gauge that measures to hundredths and not nearest quarter inch lol.

Flooding and torrential rains in Lebanon 35 miles to my west and continuing the summer trend nothing here. Cells 3 miles to my north and 3 miles to my south. Did pick up .25" earlier in the day More to the SW lets see how long we can shoot the gaps!

I'm spltting the uprights again too. Just saw light to moderate rain. Maybe we can still score some heavies later.

Light to moderate here too. Without going outside it looks like we have picked up about 1/3 of an inch today so far. The Lebanon area is really getting smacked this evening. Looks like still more moving towards them from Vermont. Cells seem to weaken as they move into the cooler airmass towards us. It will be interesting to see their 24 hour rain total!

Jesus H regarding the rain around Lebanon. I just saw KLEB put up 2.11" in an hour earlier today. That's an incredible amount of water in a short period of time.

That's insane and one of the highest I can ever remember from an ASOS. And they are at almost 3.5" on the day.

Gonna shower again today. And tomorrow. And then the day after that......

Looking at the long term GFS for the last few days I really don't see any "substantial" heat building. At best I see a fairly flat ridge in the N/E with activity every few days shooting along the international border(ish) area.  Would be nice to see some real high pressure lock in over the area....even if it brought a lot of heat. Just don't see that happening.

We've been getting these overnight downpours here the past two nights--0.81" Monday night and another 0.77" last night.

F-ing relentless.  I am so sick of this...I'm started to feel a little....unhinged, shall we say.

I'm not sure I recall such a stuck stubborn pattern of this nature--just day after day of the same thing.  It's turning into a bad dream and basically ruining the summer.  I would gladly trade a bad snow-year to get this **** out of here.

Imagine trying to paint houses for a living or trying to get any hay in--forget about.

lake-effect mist? lol

lol, It was a little sarcasm, Although in early winter before it freezes in marginal temps while its snowing away from the water it rains right near it because of the warmer water temps, Use to see that frequently here in the lakes region of Maine

Just to be snarky...

April 26 thru May 8 we were also stuck in a same-same pattern, though it was a whole lot nicer - my avg temps were 69.5/30.3/49.9 with only a few raindrops on 5/2 to keep it from being 13 totally dry days, and all 13 were either sunny or more-sun-than-cloud PC.  Probably the best stretch of spring wx in my memory.

This current period, not so nice.

Had 0.67" yesterday, almost all coming 5-9 AM with mid 50s temps; my afternoon high probably didn't reach 60 though the 9:01 PM obs of 65 got recorded.  All the afternoon stuff died before ever getting close to my area.  However, the earlier rain was enough to kick the Sandy up to 13,000 cfs, only 1K under flood stage.  Current flow is about half that.

Based on a trace or more reported on the MVL F-6 climate report:

A trace or more recorded on 47 of the last 57 days.

It rained on 25 out of 30 days in June.

It has now rained for 12 days straight with the lowest 24 hour rainfall being 0.16".

It just started raining again.

That can't be right. No way it onyl rained a 1/10th of an inch in BTV yesterday. Not kidding either.

Anyway, we're making up for it by having a fierce downpour move through South BTV right now.

Any announcements about the fireworks tonight?  I heard a rumor that they may get scratched.
