Don, That may say as much as to how warm recent Novembers have been than how cold this morning was. My pepper plants finally bought the farm. RedSky
Currently 31F feels great outside. Has me motivated to hang some lights. Now I know the cat is a warminsta, two minutes outside and made a beeline to the fireplace

iceman56
Kind of odd, both last night and the night before, there were temperature rises after midnight even with clear skies and light winds. Got to 25 before midnight Tuesday and then rose to 30 before daybreak and then back to 28 at daybreak, last night similarly, got to 27 before midnight, rose to 31 and then back to 29 at daybreak. I had expected low 20's both nights.
famartin
Watching the temp versus wind graph on Wunderground it was obvious the wind had a big effect. It didn't need to be a lot (indeed, my parents site isn't exactly the wind capitol of the area), but anything more than calm disturbed the drop. Redmorninglight
Had a high of only 39F yesterday at KWWD. That's pretty impressive, don't know about a record since data is pretty absent. This morning's low was not impressive as winds veered more westerly, mixing in more bay air.

eastonwx
That's all you can really do and call them if you see a specific threat for their area. I know Indiana Univ. will send out phone calls to all students when there are severe weather threats (or other emergencies). Somehow, I get them to my home phone, so it's a bit harrowing to get an emergency alert call in the wee hours!
