While I was home I replaced the Davis there with a new unit in hopes of better dew point readings (its possible I might've gotten spray paint on the sensor at one point ;) ).  Seems to be much closer to the analysis now, still a bit high in the daytime, but given the siting (pool, stream and plenty of trees in the area), that's not likely to be fixable. Not as high as it was though!

So, um....is KDYL down for the count?  My point-and-click obs are from 2 days ago.

Looks like a comm problem.  From AOMC: http://www3.amss.nws.noaa.gov/

"Updated Problem Description(required): Updated ticket. AOMC received a call from AOCC advising that FTI checked the line, It checked good, ZNY checked and advises that the ADAS is polling but no updates are coming through. POC (MWG) notified"

Yes a top priority ticket has been issued for DYL with a goal for resolution in 24-36 hours.

Replacing my parents' Davis has not only brought dew points down, but also temperatures as well.

We call those "dry thunderstorms" out west.  They start fires.

Yeah, Ray, I always thought that was more common out West, not so much here, which is why I considered it so odd, especially 2 occurrences.   But, 20 minutes AFTER the thunder and lightning.....NOW we have a shower.   Still probably will only amount to 1/10 of an inch....

Seriously...what's the deal with storms and heavy rain in the Lehigh Valley this summer season? I just took a peek at the radar, and once again, that region looks like it's at least getting a decent rain event this morning. My gauge? 0.14" again.

It's all part of the current cycle, adjusting things back to normal levels for upcoming winter like the old days, more snow north (poconos) and less south phl/nj.

:)
