Baroclinic Zone
wait...that looks like a backdoor must have pushed SW. BDF came thru TAN about 9pm last night. I had winds from E and NE since than.

CT Rain
Light NE winds, low clouds, and a small drop in temps/dews compared to last dew days. That would be a back door front.

ORH_wxman
So I guess on a 50 degree winter day that features an arctic fropa evident by slow fall off of temps in the afternoon before. They plunge after dark we're still pre frontal until dark? No one agrees with this and it is spin vs meteorology. Kevin often makes up his own definition for stuff versus meteorologically correct definitions.

CT Rain
Back to meteorology... instead of Kevin's weather fantasy land. Once (if) these low clouds burn off here in CT the front should tick back northeast pretty quickly. It's shallow and will mix out no problem. The low (and mid) cloud deck already shows signs of retreating around NYC. I'm going to make a thread for meteorological discussion of the upcoming cut-off pattern with flooding/severe chances. It's Always Sunny
OT but here is a good article about the new GFS Supercomputer Model (Weather and Climate Operational Supercomputer System aka WCOSS) set to take over in a couple weeks....so we hope. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/wp/2013/06/25/new-weather-service-supercomputer-faces-chaos/
CoastalWx
This may or may not matter, but when comparing the 23/12z run of the parallel GFS to the 23/12z run of the euro at H5, there are some nice similarities. It does not mean the euro was correct...but I found it interesting.

Looking forward to temps in the 60s...can't say I think that's warm for June 27th at lunchtime in BOS. Though you are correct that the real "cold" stuff is up in Maine with temps in the 50s.
