We had 4 nights of it the last 2 weeks . Both girls made it. My youngest is the only 2 nd grader to make the U9 team, everyone else 3rd grade. Enjoy it and enjoy the wx too

It's been a downer of a week.  Mine failed to make her club soccer team this year.  They stepped up their recruitment and pulled in some better overall players.  She's was their best goalie but they don't want to have players at one position at this early stage.  U12 at a minimum.  She needs to get better on the ball in the field and try out maybe this winter and likely this time next year.  Tryouts tonight are for our very first in-town travel season in the fall,  Typically we run a recreation league within the town but felt it hindered the better players from developing so we are doing a pilot program for u11/12 boys and girls.  I'll be helping out with the assessments and possibly assisting coaching.

I'm not looking forward to the humidity.  Miserable all around.

Dip in the muddy river?

I have a business dinner in Back Bay tonight. Gonna walk there and back bit I broke my standard work dress code and am wearing a short sleeve shirt with a tie.. gauche but more comfy. Tie comes off before dinner. Tomorrow back in long sleeves with rivulets running from the pits to the cojones.

Dip in the muddy river?

Speaking of rivers, I went swimming in the Willimantic River here yesterday, but the water level is about 3 times above the long term median flow for this time of the year. The water was also colder than normal for late June.

Lots of folks out kayaking, which is a bit unusual for late June as the river is normally too low by now.

So your dew yesterday was probably 68 or so instead of the 76 you reported?

No it was probably up to 73-75 before the storms. The local RWIS site hit 74-75 and CON was 72.

I was thinking... you should mount a manual rain gauge in front of your cam up nice and close.  I could play around with php to animate the last 200 frames so we could have visual rain rate.

I have one so I could do it. I can't have it too close to the house though or it'll affect my amounts. Maybe I'll set something up and zoom in the next time we have a heavy rain event coming.
