Typhoon Tip
It doesn't appear this trough amplitude slated to truncate positive anomalies is of the ilk that transports chill, however. Not seeing that. Caution against going overly pessimistic from Thur onward... Taking the details off the Euro, the BD is a bit weaker on this recent run compared to previous, and it washes out in a day, leaving the area in a [probably] dirty warm sector. RE the trough thereafter: The ECMWF and GFS operational runs began hinting at this several cycles ago, and are as of the 00z version, quite elaborate about the notion of not actually even clearing the front associated with the trough. Particularly in the GFS, the boundary retrogrades back west along with heights rising from the E. This is true in the Euro, but more like a frontalysis. Not sure this can even be construed as new, because the trough's emerging axis was never slated by the runs to really push east of our longitude before filling. Starting to see the period as humid with occasional showers/thunder, with slow improving, after this low end heat wave.

weathafella
My best friend in life is in from Hollywood for the week. We grew up in Misquamicut body surfing, lifeguarding and lady hunting together. He is really looking forward to the beach. Bodysurfing in California is considerably more consistently reliable vs here.

weathafella
Hurricane Bill was probably my dumbest day but the adrenaline rush was insane. Yeah youth is wasted in the young..lol. 34 summers ago I was with my (then) wife and 2 year old son at the beach in Malibu. Big swells that day but also lots of thick kelp beds. During one ride I got into the proverbial washing machine and get wrapped fully in kelp and could not surface. After struggling for awhile I realized that was it....this is how I'm going to die....and I began to relax...strangely calm internally. But I gave it one more try and managed to extricate myself....probably due to being more calm. I staggered to the place my family was and passed out after I flopped down.....never to body surf with that kind of abandon again.

Screwed up and got on top of a 12 foot wave, sent face first into the sand and then washer machined by a bigger follow up wave, caught in a rip, ended up about 150yards offshore exhausted and thinking like you did it was all over. A surfer buddy paddled out and got me. Can not wait to get out in some biggies.

This is the one part of winter weather I usually try to avoid... the arctic cold. Its cold enough working outside on the mountain in "normal" cold... I'll pass on the -30 H85 temps for a month straight, lol.
Damage In Tolland
Just for Ryan who is away at Brokeback: Tolland U9 travel spring session wrapped up today with the battle of undefeated teams. We won 7-0 to finish the season 8-0. Temps near 80 and dews in the low 60's was the icing on the cake
