Brian5671
Sure do. I was living in SE PA at the time. Listened to NOAA Weather radio and they mentioned it as a strong cold front. Major league winds out of nowhere....60-70 MPH just guestimating. Lesser winds continued into the next day....this appears to have kicked off the 5 weeks of brutal cold that winter...Thanksgiving storm occured a few days later with 6 inches of snow... Stormlover74
yeah and that came not long after the system that killed 9 schoolchildren in newburgh when a cafeteria wall collapsed. 2 days later we had 6" of snow on thanksgiving morning
uncle W
from my notes that day... cloudy with some am sprinkles...then p'cldy and warmer 60 max...strong frontal passage...50mph gust...almost blew my obs shelter off the roof...broken temp cable...0.07" of precip...we had a snow flurrie 3am the next morning ushering in cold air that set the stage for a white thanksgiving...I think we had a stronger frontal passage in November 1988?...I recorded a 60 mph gust from that one...
