Too late to try to beat the storm though. yeah, at this point it would hit me on the drive home, I didn't realize how close it was to the city already. So just gonna hunker down here until it passes

gymengineer
It just moved out of Rockville/N. Bethesda. Really violent. Brace yourselves, Silver Spring/Takoma/PG County. Yeah, 'violent' is a good way to describe it. It came in as a wall, lasted for 5 or so minutes, and was out of here.

DCWeatherGuy
Not getting a ton in downtown DC. Rain, a few big gusts. But nothing remarkable. Per the radar, it looks like we got gapped by the the storm that hit MoCo and the big line of storms in VA.
jpljr77
Yeah, 'violent' is a good way to describe it. It came in as a wall, lasted for 5 or so minutes, and was out of here. Exactly. Zero visibility for a second. One of the trees in the parking lot lost a pretty big limb. My office building (N. Bethesda) still has power, if anyone is benchmarking. gymengineer
The adrenaline rush on this storm was incredible (daytime helped).... I saw and heard the transformer flash to my west just a second or two before the wall of rain came in-- so that neighborhood next to mine got the gust right at the onset of rain right before the rain crossed the street to my place.
