Any idea when LOT will pop the tor watch for Chicago? Getting close to go time.

Two possibilities. SPC can issue a new watch entirely that includes Chicago, or LOT may choose to expand the current watch into more of their CWA. Depending on how these lead cells evolve, may not be long for either to happen.

This boundary has to have about the worst possible placement for metro Chicago with it cutting through the city and then se near the lake in NW IN at the moment.

Indeed. From my experience, you never ever want to be near or on a boundary. (unless you are a storm chaser)
