H2O
1.68" here So i could possibly be reading high for some reason. I seriously doubt I got .6" more than everyone else.
smokeybandit
MBY got about 1.1" overnight, registering a little lower than area Cocorahs readings.
Ian
everyone busts on tropical systems. unless we don't count the rain that's already fell. i've looked at 3 model runs this week.. so yeah.

FrederickWX
Two consecutive days of rain - that doesn't happen all that often in June. This is going to help keep the grass green for longer, and is good for the flowers I just planted.
wxmeddler
7AM Rain Gauge check. 2.56" is the total since the event started. ~2.25" of that since midnight. We got TRAIN'd. The CoCoRaHS station 2 miles to the north has 2.5"
Ellinwood
I imagine another one will get put up this afternoon and would creep up towards DC: 50/20 on tors.

WxUSAF
GFS and Euro both slashed precip totals, but everyone already has ~1-2" before the really heavy stuff even starts?
WxUSAF
6z GFS dropped the extra precip tomorrow afternoon for DC/Balt. Still some in VA.
wxmeddler
Andy, The radar estimate says you should have ~1.5" but you we're right in line with DCA with last night's train and they had 2.08 since yesterday (1.22" since midnight). So your 2.27" seems within possibility but on the high end.

I'll have to check on how to calibrate it to make sure. i may just knock 10-15% off my totals until then.
BlizzardNole
I was not expecting to get over an inch (1.20) of rain last night before the main event even gets here! I have hardly had water the garden and new plants at all so far. We got 1.65" this past Sun/Mon. Another thing I like is that last week's heat wave, which looked bad a few days prior, was not bad at all. We just reached 90 those days and the humidity was not too high, making for actually pleasant evenings. Seems like the last couple summers it would take nothing for the temps to zoom effortlessly into the 90s to near 100. Good signs for this summer. Open it up and check if there if the tip switches are covered by gunk or there is something in the tiny buckets, any extra weight that may be causing early tips. A long time ago I had a piece of bird poop that raised my totals by 50%
usedtobe
Only .68" in mby. Looks like lots of rain incoming.
Bob Chill
For some reason the site won't give me an option to do attachments and editing toolbar isn't visible. Anybody else having this problem? The latest RAP is showing a dc-balt-phi bullseye of 3-3.5" over the next 18 hours.

wxmeddler
In other news, both the DCA and BWI TDWR's got kicked into convective mode last night and spun their little motor hearts out for 6+ hours last night until they failed this morning.

wxmeddler
No mention of repairs yet, I know that TDCA was down 2 days ago with an antenna alignment problem. Hopefully its just something easy and it doesn't need a part ordered or something.
MN Transplant
Barely 0.2" in the last 6 hours. The batch from here to Richmond is good rain, but nothing special. The places that are going to end up with the big totals will be getting the stuff close to the low itself (like Wes said). Interesting difference between the short term models in that the RAP wants to put that line right over DC, while the NAM puts it over the bay. Avdave
Wondering if my wx station is reading right. it says 2.27" since yesterday afternoon already. DCA is only 1.6" Stop peeing in it to increase your numbers

mattie g
I put one of those little containers for a breast pump outside yesterday evening at around 7:00 (without my wife's knowledge) and just measured exactly 2.5" in it. Would have been a more exact measurement to tell everyone what it was in mL, but that doesn't really work with rain I guess...

RIC_WX
since midnight, only .23 here Heavy rain last Sunday night. Heavy rain Thursday and Friday. Chance of thunderstorms this weekend and into early next week. Very unsettled. This is my 4th June in Leesburg, and the prior 3 looked nothing like this. Let's hope it continues. Mrs.J
0.29" 11:00am. Last night when I went to bed I was at 0.86" around 10pm with it dumping at midnight, so probably was just under an inch for yesterday.
