powderfreak
Over/Under 2.5 inches? That's a tough one for your area...I think 2-3" seems like a good forecast with equal chances 2" vs 3". 2-3" in a 24 hour period is pretty heavy rain...but that seems like a decent basin average. Localized spots may hit 4" or only get 1.6", but most should be 2-3" would be my call.
powderfreak
Flooding not damaging enough I guess. If you live on a hill-top, flooding is about the least of your concerns...so I can see where he doesn't get too excited. Probably just results in more mulch running down his street. It's much easier to get into flooding or heavy rain if you live right next to a river and can watch its response to an event. The power of water can be pretty sweet to watch as whole trees float down normally docile streams.

Typhoon Tip
just very weak with all of the features. amazing it could be that different I actually am not surprised. Will and Scott and I were talking about the sensible implications of the Euro solutions from yesterday (we had differing opinions) but I was carefully pointing out that the model's continuity is horrible beyond D5.5... It really bares less continuity at times than even the GFS. It goes from amazing to utterly useless across those 18 hours of the late middle range. 00z, had a suspicious nor-easter, now it implies a heat dome working in. Neither solution is probably real, if unless it's accident.

powderfreak
That's what I'm thinking, which is why I chose 2.5" for the over/under... That's a tough one...but I think I'll take the under. I have a feeling we may have more reports near 2" than 3" so if I was betting I'll take the under. It'll be interesting watching it unfold. CoastalWx
The flooding in VT wasn't because of getting extremely exhorbitant amounts of 20" or something like that...it was 6-9" or so of rain in 6 hrs over mountainous terrain.
