bluewave
I was curious when the premium ECMWF data will become available and if we will have permission to post the maps on threads in this forum?
Wow
It all depends on how many subscriptions we can obtain. Allan would have to order through the ECMWF office and, well, it ain't cheap to put it simply. Right now, you cannot post images on the board, but there could be a way to make it possible to post them and make them viewable only to model center subscribers. ECMWF costs approximately $200,000 per year for the complete set of maps. You can get away with as little as $10,000 for a pretty mediocre subset, though. Internet broadcast privileges (i.e., showing any map or allowing any map to be shown outside of a paid subscriber base) cost 20% extra regardless of original price. More details can be found on this fairly complicated page.
thunderman
Do any of the models have isentropic surface maps?
