Howdy ladies and gents! It is that time of year again, Hurricane season!

Will this be the year CT Blizz loses power for a month in a '38 redux? Or is DC finally going to break its all time wind gust record set by none other than Hurricane Hazel '54?

Please use this thread to discuss the tropics, in particular disturbances that may pose a threat to our region. (Please keep the fish discussion to the main thread).

Cheers to a warm, sun filled summer with lots of tracking as we enter the climo-favored period later this summer!  :sun:

GFS keeps it at least a bit interesting. Hispaniola is going to do a number on this thing, but I don't think a chance of a fish is very likely. Although early, I do think Chantal is going to be a problem for someone on the east coast.

Ensembles are tightly clustered early on 6z GFS, but spread out rather significantly after day 3.

For Entertainment Purposes:

Whether this is a TS or even a depression, if this comes close to the SE coastal states, those people in No. Georgia, WNC and Eastern TN and upstate SC are going to be facing a ton of rain and wide spread flooding after getting between 5-9 inches of rain this past week down there. Talk about some potential severe damage in that region.

Hopefully it will spare them and give us some rain. We could use it.

Yep, it definitely hasn't rained here in a while.
