cbmclean
Picked up a refreshing 0.43" when the line of storms passed through. It was nice after having a fairly disappointing week. 7.43" so fare for the month. I would like to cross the 8" mark.

Solak
1.16" yesterday. Really hard to believe I'm sitting at 8.93" for the month with as much watering as I've had to do the last 2 weeks or so.

Cold Rain
That second round that hit around 2 am had tons of house shaking thunder, why cant we ever seem to get those during the afternoon lol instead of when I am asleep.... Yep, that moved through here just after midnight. It was very bright and loud for a while. Definitely had higher wind gusts than with the earlier storms. Looks like today might not be quite as active across the board. We shall see. Either way, I'm glad I mowed yesterday afternoon.

jburns
Idunno. ask a met. No need for a met. I conducted a thorough analysis of the problem. Bottom line. It would be much easier for him to alter his sleep pattern than the weather pattern.
jburns
Probability of precip went from 70% to 20% for me today. Looks like I'll get the grass mowed before I leave after all.

metalicwx366
Our chance of rain just from 90% to 20%. What the hell? I have never seen that before. Can't wait to see the JAX Forecast discussion that should come out in a bit.

metalicwx366
So you're sayin there's a chance! Oh yeah!!I'm betting we don't see decent rain down here until Tuesday when the low level flow turns to the SE and the seabreeze becomes a player in the convective activity. This SW low level flow isn't working for us in SE GA and NE FL. Definitely working for the Florida Panhandle.Edit: lol REST OF THIS AFTERNOON...CLOUD COVER HAS REALLY PUT A LID ON WIDESPREAD CONVECTION AND EXPECT MAINLY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED STORMS THROUGH SUNSET. A FEW STRONG STORMS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION AS SOME SUNNY BREAKS HAVE PUSHED SURFACE BASED CAPE VALUES BACK ABOVE 1000 J/KG...AND SOME GUSTY WINDS IN THE 30-50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE. DEEP MOIST SOUTHWEST FLOW WILL PUSH NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND STORMS ACROSS THE AREA THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. MOST AREAS STAND TO SEE AT LEAST SOME RAIN AT SOME POINT EACH DAY SO WE WILL CONTINUE WITH CATEGORICAL POPS ON SUNDAY AND NEAR CATEGORICAL POPS ON MONDAY . NCsandhills
incredible for this time of year! Having moved here from central Arkansas, I am loving this "summer" here in central North Carolina...82 in July? With rain? Ok by me.
metalicwx366
Sunny and 90 when the forecast high called for 88. Just sprinkled and heard a rumble of thunder. Storm missed by backyard by a hair. Might have another chance at something because this sun is out but I have doubts.
Met1985
Wow what a beautiful afternoon. Temp is 72 degrees with low humidity. Not very often you can look out over the mountains at the end of June and see no haze at all and the sky is so blue for this time of the year. Just amazing weather for this time of the year. I will take it.
Snowless in Carrollton
incredible for this time of year! Having moved here from central Arkansas, I am loving this "summer" here in central North Carolina...82 in July? With rain? Ok by me. But the humidity in central nc is brutal compared to central ar. Dewpoints in the 50s in Arkansas and 70s in NC.

Humidity in Arkansas can be just as brutal as NC and it gets hotter too. metalicwx366
Currently 88 and sunny with a heat index of 102 and dewpoint of 79. TWC just brought the high down to 83(GFS data) . I can see now why our NWS uses the NAM for forecast highs and GFS for lows this past week.

Hvward
Turn what? Rotate apparently. You guys not comfortable with synonyms? Lots of turning or rotating of the winds with these storms and earlier there were some pretty strong winds on radar.
WidreMann
You guys not comfortable with synonyms? Lots of turning or rotating of the winds with these storms and earlier there were some pretty strong winds on radar. Nothing in the ground truth and the NWS hasn't indicated likelihood of severe. You're seeing things, as all weenies do.

Obviously you were seeing things because there were no tornado warnings.
Hvward
Nothing in the ground truth and the NWS hasn't indicated likelihood of severe. You're seeing things, as all weenies do. I never said that there was a tornado on the ground. A storm can rotate and not produce a tornado or even get a warning. I was just looking at the radar and observing, since this is a weather board.
