In celebration of what great work Tony's moles have just done, I'm inviting them to have ice cream with me on the beach. I'd pay for round trip transportation (I recommend they travel by train because I don't know if a plane can accomodate their special needs), accomodations for two nights for one room at the motel of my choice (Would they want two doubles or a king?), a guided tour of the beach, two dinners (What kind of food do they like? They'd be on their own for bfast/lunch), and, of course, all they can eat ice cream (to celebrate a cool summer). Let me know if the moles are interested.

Have the moles ever met a lizard? :)

Lol, well, I'll tell them, but you might have bitten off more than you can chew.  They now have an entourage, including the groupies, and they are showing an unhealthy interest in Champagne and Caviare, and bathing yak's milk, lol.  Your offer is most generous, but I suggest you wait until the month is over, as it can heat up on a dime, as you know.

I'm actually a bit stunned you still hold them in such high regard after yesterdays unhappiness.

Oh, and by the way, I just saw Steve/Absolute Zero on tv doing tornado assessment up your way.

Hope your power is back on.  Our cousin lives in Dunwoody and we still haven't gotten in touch with them, which makes me think they are still without power.  Folks often discount straight line winds, but they can be ferocious.  The scariest winds I ever dealt with were  straight line  winds.  Stuff, heavy, heavy stuff was going by  up 10 feet in the air.

We have skinks down here...does that count as a lizard?  T

Yes, my power is back. It actually came back late last night. I'm not holding the moles responsible for the storm...just giving them credit for the lack of a 92 lol. Skinks are close enough. That should allow them to be comfy with me.

I agree about the straight line winds. Never anything to sneeze at. I've never experienced a tornado and don't want to lol.

Lol ok I'm on my way. Took me a minute to understand the sarcastic tone in the second sentence.

Hey, GoatBoy, are those mean Carolina folks as snooty in person, as they are on the inner nets, treating us Ga. folks like back woods yocals?  I mean the idea of offering up yard grass. self described as "free weed yard", to esteemed guests!  And I bet it's not good weed either, but that wretched hay fever weed, and nettles.  I bet if you had Burns for a BBQ he'd get some python, and gator, and some opossum stew, not no yard grass :)  T

What kind on lizard do you have?  A Gila Monster? Monitor lizard? Komodo Dragon? One of those things from Jurassic Park with the umbrella neck?  Does it eat Moles?

My cousin got her power back last evening after 8.  Glad it wasn't worse.   I discovered a huge limb down back of my house, and I'm headed out with the chainsaw now.  Didn't think we'd had that much wind here.

If I don't see a 90 all month do I get no 90's all year?  Or just the thrill, and joy, of having not seen 90 all June :)   89.8 was bad enough, but 90 would be excruciating, lol. T

That's ok, we ain't into pig squeeling around here either, but now possum, that something you need to try.  They are easy to catch....just run up on one and holler boo!  They'll fall right over, and often they'll grin at you :)  T

Nope, Carolina folks are ok. Psshht not as great as the Georgia folks though because they don't share steaks in NC. I would definitely live up there though.

Well, it's 97 with a dewpoint of 77 in Waycross...112 heat index, with gnats buzzing all around your face. Just your run of the mill day in south Georgia

Can't wait to experience this for two weeks in August! Not. I'll be at the other end of US 84 in Thomasville GA visiting my parents. Even my dad doesn't know how he grew up down there in the 50's before AC.

We didn't even have fans.  You'd drag the bed up to the window, and try to get in the window sill, lol.  Lying there at 2am not moving and pouring sweat.  I remember my mother telling me to think cool thoughts when I hollered I was dying :)  Ever since when the first cold front with some real cold comes in, I go out and get really, really cold, so I'll have something to help me think "cool thoughts" in the dead of summer.

You get used to it.  That's why I'm digging this June so far.  We haven't had summer yet.  Still haven't gotten to 90 in my yard.  It's that two or three week spell of 96 to 103, that breaks your spirit.  If I don't get to 100 on the 4th of July week, I usually won't hit 100 for the summer. But if the 4th is  100, or over, then watch out in August, lol.  It'll probably be a million down your way :)  T

Tony,

No, just to remind you, I am a lizard. I think you forgot. I'm a gecko. Will the moles get along with a gecko when they come for their ice cream trip?

Lol!!  And all this time I thought your avatar was a frog eating ice cream :)  A laid back Kermit who digs Neopolitan.  I beg your parden.  Sure Skinks and Gecko aren't far apart, best I can tell, and my yard is full of squirrels and chipper monkeys, so they are used to the wild life, though they stay underground for the most part.  I expect when you get to the beach they'll dig into a dune, and that's the last you'll see of them, until it's time to go.  T

Lol. In all fairness, I have been called Kermit by accident many times because of two reasons: my sunglasses hide much of my face (I have to wear them due to both an enormous amount of sun sensitivity and, yes, believe it or not, shyness), and my avatar doesn't show my entire body. Kermit's head does resemble mine somewhat, but try to imagine me without my sunglasses. I also wonder if you and others get thrown off by the ice cream because of the Cookie Monster's love for cookies.

Well, I'm so looking forward to their trip. If they bury themselves in a dune, I'll just take a very long beach walk during that time. I just hope that they are out long enough for us to eat ice cream together. Do you think they'll just take their ice cream into the dune and eat it there?? Wouldn't the sand get into the ice cream? Yuck! Also, I've already prepaid for a dirt cheap...ooops...I mean nice motel room with a great view of the dunes. I'd hate for them to not sleep in the room. I ended up getting two DB...so they don't have to share a bed with me. Wouldn't a nice view of the dunes be good enough for them??
