NWS says sunshine fail...showing a good shot at rain tomorrow and has clouds/rain moving back already Sat afternoon/evening... my God this pattern is bad...its one thing to have cool temps, but the constant showers, clouds, light rain and drizzle get a little old.  This must be like summer in coastal Alaska is like.

My conifers look great!

DLL - got any moss growing from the trees yet!?

On the ground moss has been doing pretty good. Few lichens & mushrooms here and there also.

Some clearing trying to push its way into the region from the west. I hope it makes it!

2 in the afternoon and only 52 at MKE, awesome

Yeah, even the lovers of cool summer weather like myself are starting to get a bit restless, two straight days of 50s, clouds, and drizzle is awful.  I like rain, but if it is light nothing, I'd rather it be partly sunny or something of the sort.

Sun lasted about 30 minutes. Temperature boosted up to 59.

Edit: Interesting SWS by DVN.

Luckily this is about the coolest and gloomiest start to a summer and June that is possible; three yucky days out of six, and even the three remaining days were a bit cloudy and cool at times.  The summer can only get better from here, even if there is occasional intense heat.

Come west....

The NWS has 1!!!! ONE sunny day in the next 7...chance or rain every other day then this coming Saturday...give me a break...  Starting to wonder if my fruit trees are going to do anything with all this rain..i would think fungal infections would start blooming soon.

Cloudy here today...but I dont mind it one bit. As I said I honestly cannot imagine better start to met summer. Its not a damp chill like you have, but heat has been nonexistent as well.

DTW high/low/departures this June...also...only rain has been in the wee morning hours June 1st

So with a high of 54 at MKE, this will go down in the record books as tie for second coldest high temperature record on June 6th. Or in other words its been over 100 years since it was this cold on this date.

06/06/1881    53
06/06/1894    54
06/06/1910    54
06/06/2013   54
06/06/1935    55
06/06/1986    55
06/06/2013   55

Edit: I guess 54 wont be the high since MKE is now at 55.

I personally like the cool temperatures but I wish the sun was out.

La Crosse hi/low

add in over an inch of precip spread over the last 3 days and 8.5 inches of rain in May

This is suicide weather...people will start going nuts and jumping off tall buildings if it doesn't change.

I was at todays Tigers game...and its AMAZING the difference the sun makes (keep in mind we are just 2 weeks away from the sun's strongest angle). It was definitely hoodie weather in the upper deck (low 60s, gray, breeze). Then a few glimpse of sun peaked through the overcast midgame and its crazy how much warmer it briefly felt...then as soon as it went away, felt much cooler.

lol Im sure it will change. Its funny because I know you always joke with us in MI how cloudy our winters are...and its true...but Ill bet DTW has seen almost twice sunshine this June as LSE (neither place keeps sunshine data anymore). I can tell you today was our first genuinely solid overcast day of the month.

Exactly, the sun makes a huge difference. That's why I enjoy low-mid 60's, because if the sun is out, it will probably feel closer to 70.

+1

Was lucky to see some sun today down here. Temperature responds quickly to the sun this time of year despite the lake being -5° cooler than last year.

Crazy...drizzle came in around 3pm and rain followed..been raining NON stop since then..  Radar isn't even that impressive...  craziness..some sort of vortex of cloudiness hell has set up over here.

I know Minneapolis had the 3rd cloudiest May on record ...so i would guess we would be similar.

Another gorgeous day. Wondering if/hoping this summer will do the same thing winter of 2011-12 did. Following a string of several near-record snowy winters, the other shoe dropped in 2011-12. Now, after a string of near-record hot summers, will the other shoe drop? I sure hope so!

Where were you this morning? We had overcast skies and sprinkles/light rain up until noon. If you like that I guess it was gorgeous.

Agreed. But to each their own.

As DLL said, for those who want warmth AND sunshine, this is suicide weather. There doesn't appear to be an end in sight either.
