nice pics..  weird it looked nothing like that (sunny) here inland 4 or 5 miles until about 5 or so it started to break up.

Thanks - it seems like it cleared over the lake first then the clouds eroded inland further. Kinda chilly down there, but the sun made up for the low 50 temperatures.

Temp has tanked - down to 41°

Same here, in fact at 5:30 or so I was looking out toward Miller Park from the north and there was a stark demarcation of the stratus deck to the south, and completely sunny skies taking over from the north.  Would have been pic worthy had I not been driving.

Yeah I think most people I know appreciate a typical more then a cooler than average one. Usually a cool summer means more than a fair share of rain and clouds, which I don't care for too much. Get enough of clouds during the spring and winter.

It seems more of the people I talk to like it hot in the summer. Now it's fine, but trust me, if a cool summer ensues, you will hear more complaining than appreciating.

Makes sense.

Just like the folks in the winter like it cold and snowy, not temps in the upper 40s.

Americanwx forum members like it coldish and snowy, but not the general public.  No, most of the public likes it warmer than average in the winter as well, except for winter weather enthusiasts, and I think many of them want it cold and snowy at their favorite hill or resort but milder in their backyard.
