A little off topic..

Going to be some HOT weather out west for a few days to come! :sizzle:

attachicon.gifHOT.png

Nothing like a nighttime low of 100!

Wow.  I'm surprised at that low of 100.  Thought a desert area like that would have a much wider range in temps between the low and high.  Can't even imagine experiencing temps near 100 at 5am.

There's good reason why the location got named Furnace Creek!

The surrounding rocks of the mountains I'm sure retain that heat really well at night.

A bit of haze outside now with the temp and dewpoint really close at 67°.

A place that interesting inside the US border deserves at least an AWOS.  Pretty disappointing that for whatever reason that never happened.

That is disappointing. Especially since the hottest temperature in the US was measured there.

Found a location just south of Furnace Creek with some lows of 102°. Still 116° at the nearest wx station!

Dewpoint, 43°. Not that bad! lol

Their low Sunday night will probably be about 5-7 degrees warmer than most of our maximum temps for the entire year of 2013 lol.

Turning into quite the decent heavy rain event around Southern Ontario, some significant highway and parking lot flooding in places. Some people abandoning cars in the road.

Wow on the pic.  I think we've been the hole in the donut as far as rain goes.   I noticed that Kitchener and areas to the east were getting more than us as well as areas down towards Chatham and Windsor.   I've already dealt with flooding with the t-storms earlier in the month.....I'll pass on a repeat..

Similar scenes in parts of SEMI yesterday. Lots of 2-3" totals in 2-3 hours tops.

Since late Tuesday evening, KARB is up to 3.97" of liquid. :flood:

That's not really a bullseye amount from looking at radar estimates, and it's the first time I think I've seen GFS QPF actually underdo things convectively. Usually it has the opposite problem...

Just experienced a crazy intense shower, which put down 0.23" in 5 minutes! Now I can understand how it flooded so quickly in SE MI yesterday with the storms.

In addition I witnessed the longest lasting rainbow I've experienced - about 15 minutes long and one of the brightest as well. Pictures soon to follow.

Got poured on for about 20 minutes this evening volunteering at Summerfest; besides that, it was a very pleasant evening, with temps in the upper 60s/lower 70s and slightly muggy.

Was Dispatch playing tonight? Saw them last night in Chicago at Charter One on the lakefront....was a beautiful night with the skyline lit up behind the stage and out over the lake in the distance you could see thunderheads roaming around

I am betting the bottom car probably doesn't have a bumper sticker that says "MENSA member".

Not sure, might take in some music tomorrow but was working pretty much from 10am-9pm in some capacity today (internship then volunteering) so decided to skip any late night listening).
