THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHEYENNE HAS ISSUED A  

 

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...  

SOUTHWESTERN BOX BUTTE COUNTY IN THE PANHANDLE OF NEBRASKA...  

SOUTHEASTERN SIOUX COUNTY IN THE PANHANDLE OF NEBRASKA...  

 

* UNTIL 430 PM MDT  

 

* AT 342 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A  

TORNADO WAS LOCATED 10 MILES NORTH OF LAKE ALICE...AND MOVING EAST  

AT 15 MPH.  

 

HAZARD...DEVELOPING TORNADO AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.  

 

SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION. THIS STORM HAS HAD MULTIPLE REPORTS  

OF FUNNEL CLOUDS AND TORNADOES.

Is it just me or did the circulation itself make a dramatic SW turn towards Corning?

there may be a trailing circulation there. main circulation i think is near goff. a 2nd circulation may have formed in its wake near corning. either that or we have the first one stalled and the 2nd one developed to the east of the main and is in goff. either way, we got two out there with this cell, i think.

Storm SW of Amarillo has a decent meso on it alraedy and just got tornado warned.

THE MOST  DANGEROUS PART OF THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR FRIONA...MOVING  NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.* SOME LOCATIONS NEAR THE PATH OF THIS STORM INCLUDE BLACK AND  FRIONA.

It'll be interesting to see if storms increase in coverage later across W KS as upslope flow increases from this evening on. SPC Mesoanalysis suggests that convergence is increasing as mid 60 dews advect into NW KS and into a slightly cooler environment.

* AT 528 PM CDT...A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR CULVER...AND

MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

HAZARD...DAMAGING TORNADO AND HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL.

SOURCE...WEATHER SPOTTERS CONFIRMED TORNADO.

IMPACT...MOBILE HOMES WILL BE HEAVILY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED.

SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO ROOFS...WINDOWS AND VEHICLES WILL

OCCUR. FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DEADLY TO PEOPLE AND ANIMALS.

EXTENSIVE TREE DAMAGE IS LIKELY.
